Update on my 97' Ford Ranger with 04' 3.0L V6 engine, still couldn't figure out the problem with my engine. Had my truck looked at by two experienced mechanics, they took my truck apart and added new bearings, and -$500 being spent they told me they couldn't find the ticking sound. So i have no idea what it could be or what the cause is. So as for now im driving it til i guess when it dies out on me unfortunately. or wait til i have enough to put a new engine in it for a good price. Well if you have any other ideas on what it could be or know of a better solution for my truck would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys!!!

Its pretty sad 2 "experienced" mechanics wasted your time and your money finding a noise.

Recently I had a 2000 Mazda b2500. (Its a Ranger) and I had a ticking noise. I bought a stethoscope and poked around. It sounded like it was coming from the top end. To me it sounded like a valve. I got tired of it one day and pulled it apart. When I took out the #4 piston the land between the rings was broken. $1500 later and no more ticking. Sold the truck though.

Anyway, what I would do is buy a stethoscope and listen around and try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
