"Unnaturally Aspirated" LS Ranger

thats what i alluded to....i could wide body and awd an escort with one of these.

you could not give me an aluminum pan for anything trans pan diff cover nothing.....i will bust it in my application.....stock pans are out for a 4x4 ranger for idiots like me.

Here's a shot of my crossover pipe tacked in place. It runs down under the balancer and up in between the heater hose outlet and frame rail. Now I need to decided exactly how I want to merge the pipes into the turbo. I have it planned out it my head, just need to see if it transfers to the real thing.

I have a few little ECU parts on the way to wrap up the wiring side then once the exhaust is done, it'll be pretty close to firing up. I'm getting anxious to hear it.

Just ordered my wastegate, BOV, intercooler and piping along with my turbo oil feed and return lines. Next up will be injectors, fuel pump and regulator. Everything is getting real close. After the next wave of parts comes in, I'll just have to finish up my gauges and wiring. I'm getting excited haha

I came home from work to find a box of goodies.

There's actually a ton of room between the grill and core support for electric fans. I need to recess the radiator to give more room for the IC piping but so far it's fitting.

The intercooler fits nicely behind the grill as well.

that looks so good in there.

it wants to be in there
it needs to be in there.

stay after it...:icon_thumby:

Did you have to do any trimming to the grill to get it in there

I didn't cut the grill at all. I cut out the center piece of the fiberglass header panel and a little of the side supports for the IC piping.

I've been slowly making progress with work.
I made my turbo mount and finally got a good portion of the passenger manifold made. The hot side is done just needs final welding. The cold side is done after the IC just waiting on a 90 degree reducer for the turbo side.

I found a cheap explorer 8.8 and installed a mini spool.

I took apart the cluster to mount gauges to it. This is my cardboard template. I'm going to use some sort of plastic. It screws right into the back half of the cluster which mounts to the dash for a nice clean look.

I was also measuring for a driveshaft. It's finally sitting outside under it's own weight and the hood actually clears everything surprisingly.

It looks so unsuspecting, I love it. My friend is also giving me a fiberglass capper for it too hahah sleeper status.

That is sweet.... Total sleeper status for sure. Are you going to lower it or raise it at all or keep it that way

this is awesome

when can i visit:D?? do you allow visitors:icon_confused:

can your ls gettingg hookup get older 4l80 stuff too?

i will need a spare trans again for my pig...

cant wait till this gets tuned.:icon_thumby:

thats just hilarious.

love the idea, and the fact that it fits in there and looks like a bone stock truck.

keep it up!

It'll be stock height for a while just to add to the effect of someone getting beat by a ranger. :icon_rofl:
Next winter if everything goes as planned, it'll be getting cage work, beams and 4 linked. I miss my prerunner. This will just be a better and faster version. :icon_thumby:

It'd be a little drive for you haha I'm in Rochester.
And I'm not sure about the older 4l80s

Last weekend I built my trans crossmember and mount. Also measured for a driveshaft. From the trans output to the axle drive flange is 70". The place I always go to says for that length and RPM I need a 5" to be safe. Rather than trying to modify the fuel tank to clear, I'm just gonna order a fuel cell and be done with it.

My LH8 oil pan came in a couple days ago. They are the ones used in the 5.3 H3s and Colorados. I'm pulling the motor for the last time today to install the pan and my clutch.

Subscribed! I have a '97 stepside I'm doing the same to. Any updates on it??
