underdrive & overheating

No ill effects on A/C, mine blows so cold it hurts my hands.
makes sense to me: the compressor is turning more slowly, pushing the coolant more slowly through both condensor and evaporator, allowing for better heat exchange at both sides. In fact, it (the coolant) may be more dense at the orifice tube, so that really gets it spraying/vapourized more fully into the low side.

Thanks I appreciate all the responses. Think I should just sack up and buy the pulley i posted in post #14?

I would, they pay for themselves in fuel savings, let alone a little bit more power. Be sure to get a shorter belt when you order the pulley.

main reason i wanted to do it, i put 31s on and dropped to ~16mpg

ok last question, i want to order the belt at the same time to get free shipping but i can only find the belt length and # for one with ud crank and od alternator which is 86.5? I am just looking for the length for the ud crank. should i go with the same? or get a 86in?
