My credo
I don't count birthday's anymore...just happy to be looking down at the ground instead of looking up
Throwing this out for opinions...
Want to add an insert similar to the two tone paint schemes on the 70's Ford trucks.
This is just a rough idea of what I want. Just took a pic of my Ranger and colored in an idea of what I want.
Paint would run about $2500 for custom job.
But I found a local Graphics Co. that will do both sides, rear tailgate, and some hood accents for $350.00, using top quality vinyl, like a wrap. Their work is top notch...they do all the local Police/Sheriff/ Rescue vehicles.
Thinking of a dark gray for the accents, with a black or very dark burgundy pin stripe.
It would be similar to the F 150 as far as coverage, but in dark gray.
What do you all think ?

They do the install too? Warranty?
I'd do it.

Yes, that is installed with 10 year warrantied vinyl.
They had a new local sheriff's vehicle there and the work was outstanding as far as workmanship.
I talked to owners at length, told em I go to a lot of cruise'ins and shows...I'm thinking they want to get their name out there as far as doing custom work in addition to commerical stuff.
But their price was given to me before I started talking with them.

10 year is longer lasting than most factory paint jobs....

I think I remember this coming up before...

Gray a bit darker then your bed rails... I think it would look fantastic.

Maybe a black or an even darker Gray stripe on the lower body line from the back of the front fenders all the way around the tailgate... maybe just between the wheel wells? To maybe "imitate" the body side moldings...

Sounds like a good deal for completely changing your trunks personality.

Yeah, I had brought this up several months ago, but let it drop when I was quoted big $$$ for paint. Not to many collision shops do custom paint, so I checked with a few truly custom paint/body shops. High $$$ due to removing all trim, prepping, taping out areas, ect.
Graphic idea popped up when I saw company building, and just went on in.

I've seen some very good reviews on vinyl vehicle wraps. Granted, it was for the entire vehicle but the reviews were fantastic on fit, finish, and durability of the product.

You could always plast-dip it yourself first... few hours and probably 6-8 cans would do it. If you dont like it peel it off.

Peel it off....what, you think my Ranger is a banana???
But, seriously, these guys do good work.
I'm 99.9% sure I'm going this route...good quality, good work, and just enough to set the truck off as a bit "different".
Name of the co. is All Phase Graphics in Fishersville, Va. You can check their photo gallery and see some of their work.

It could be...
Paint the truck white then Pasti-dip it yellow.

Give it brown spots for more realism.

Well, getting it done on the 21 st. Dark gray panels along with getting the domed part of the hood done.
I plan on a very thin 1/16 inch pinstripe around the finished edge, maybe in burgundy or maroon.
Their using the same type vinyl as they use when they wrap a vehicle.
Of course I'll post some pic's when it's done.
:yahoo:

Cant wait to see it done. I think it will look sharp once the vinyl is all done.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I was thinking about this same exact thing when I get/or I repaint my BII.

I would love a two tone, but would be easier and cheaper to repaint it all red and have a vinyl wrap that had any pin striping from Ford that has been long discontinued.

On a side note I love that F150, the early 90's have always been my favorites. If I didn't have kids to haul around I would go back to one of those single cabs in a heart beat.
