Twister 85 B2 Build

Its length that matters but also its clock position too. I got my np208 to just fit, I may have needed to cut an ear off it but didnt.

Would you mind measuring yours for me?

Cool thanks, I measured my bw4406 from the mating service to the end of the slip yoke, it measured around 24 inches.

Is there different variations of the np208 they put in the f150's? The one i pulled at the junk yard was as wide if not wider than the bw4406 i have. I will get some more measurements tomorrow.

I don't think so, other then fired made them driverside drop. One thing you have to consider is room to fit it under the truck. I got mine as far up as I could with the transmission I am using.

Also, how wide is a B2 frame vs a rangers in that area? I biked mine to the stock location but not without modding the stock trans cross member as a temp solution.

Idk about the frame, I thought they were the same width just shorter and slightly different body mounts.

The spring perches on a B2 axle are different dimintions then those of a rangers axles perch mounts. A B2 are more inward then a rangers.

Ok i measured my BW4406, from end to end it is about 25 inches, if i cut off these two hoops on the ends, it measures about 22-23 inches

I'm not sure what mine is total but the measurement I showed was from the center if the output to the edge and that's also me pulling my trans to the side a bit to have it fit better. The one thing in my way of a front drive shaft is the trans crossmember mount on the driverside frame rail, the output is just in the way. If my laziness stops and I get also get money, I need to go get a driveshaft that will fit then design a crossmember around it.

Cool, ill remeasure mine and see what it is. I didnt get to do the measurement i wanted to, i was on my way and my rear passenger tire just about fell off. I was driving and i heard a horrible noise, so i stopped immediatley, i thought it was my drive shaft till i noticed my rear passengeer side drooping about 7 inches :shok:, somehow i lost 2 studs previously and the last 3 sheared themselves off. So i had to do that instead of messing with the transfer case :annoyed:

Lucky you got stopped in time. I would check the rest of the tires to make sure they are okay.

Dang, if you are shearing studs with a V6 you are really going to have problems with a V8. :icon_twisted:

Always recheck the torque after you have the wheels off and tightwad Ford didn't put on 5 lugs if you only need 3.

Yeah, i kept meaning to fix it but never got it to, guess i should have fixed it sooner :icon_twisted:. It didnt seem to do much damage, just knocked some wheel weights off.
