I need some suggestions... My 97 has some little sail shaped parts on the doors, where most tweets are found but they don't angle towards you... the tweets I got came with the mounts which would be alright I suppose but it sure would be nice to be able to mount them flush with the truck... anyway, if someone has any other ideas id love to hear. :headbang:

there or some were on your A pillar is best

I agree with 4x4, on the A pillar is where I place my tweets that are non adjustable. It also helps to hide them from normal peering in.

its also a good spot to put it to set up you sound stage. its time consuming to make your system sound good as it is let alone having your tweeter in a funky place, and you also need to let your sound mature before you here it and the a pillar is a good spot to let that mappen

Hmm all good points.
Thanks fellas

As far as the visibility from the outside, does everybody find it would be less noticeable on the A pillar than the triangle spot on the door?

And on sound staging, I have read a lot of stuff that says you should try to get the tweets as close to the mids as possible for the purpose of time mapping (I think thats what its called, or something like that) in other words, so that the sounds from the mids reach you as close as possible to the time the tweeters reach you? I won't be trying to enter any comps or anything like that but I'd like to have the best possible quality out of my system. I'm pretty new to all this as you can probably tell.

Thanks again

well in the triangle spot is good. and kinda retarted is some one is eyeing your stuff up just for your tweeters. and timing adjustment is a big thing. you need to find a HU that supports that feature but its awesome when you get it.

Its not a ranger but this is the spot I was referring to

Yea true, but wouldn't someone assume if I have tweeters I might have some other aftermarket components?

Oh btw
My HU is a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693
It supports Digital Time Alignment :)

very true but how many cars all ready have that there, from the factory so its not eye catching as it used to be.

also your tweeters should have adabpters to mount into the factory locations. so there is no issue with flush mounting and it will appear oem.

as far as your HU i have the same one.......nice HU man and it will do everything you need

My suggestion, 2 pieces of velcro. lightly tack the 1 piece to a interior placement, set tweeter on, turn on sound. Adjust till you are happy. Once you have final placement of sounds, mark, drill, wire, replace trim.

with the advancement in DTA thats all a way of the past :icon_cheers:

Nice to know, but at the same time this method will also allow for the best look in the owners viewpoint as well. Something that looks tacky for one may be perfect for another. I really need to do my audio in my 94 soon. Any suggestions for a single sub and amp placement and style? I have only had hatch back cars which allowed me to have 15s in a ported box. Not sure if I would even be happy with an 8 or a 10. Let alone a single sub? Hmm...

Well I guess I have some tinkering to do :icon_welder:
The components came in today so hopefully I can have them in soon. Maybe I'll post up some pics with some locations I'm thinking of and you guys can tell me what you think.
Thanks for all the replys:icon_thumby:
