Tweeter placement?

4x4fun- How long have you had it? I'm pretty stoked about it. I picked it up for 179 bucks so I thought it was a pretty good deal for all the features it has.

Thats where i put mine and it sounds great, they sounded a little bright at first with my old deck without time alignment but with my new HU wow do they blend in perfectly and become very transparent.

another reason i didnt want to cut up the actual door panel is if i decide to return to stock it will be very easy finding just the black trim piece instead of a whole door panel in the same color with the same layout.

A pillars are great too but this would just be another option if you ever plan on returning to stock speakers.

Wow that is a cool spot
Hadn't even considered it.
Good point about the door panels too, I was kind of wondering what I was going to do if I were to sell the truck and keep the speakers.

I have them on the A Pillar in my X-Terra, they work great. But, that was also the factory location so you can't tell that they've been changed.

I think I'll mount mine similar to Loud Ranger's. Except I don't think I'll do mine flush like that, they came with some mounts that will make it easier to point them where I want. They'll stick out a bit but I don't see it being a problem. Also, they will blend in better since they're black.

it depends. do u like on-axis or off-axis. its really up to the op's listening choices

From my experience, tweets sound a lot better when they point right at you. Not to say I have heard lots of systems but the ones I have sound better with on-axis tweets.

Is there some kind of chart or math you can use to figure out how much delay to use for time alignment? Like if speaker is (x) inches closer to you than (y) speaker, then use (z) amount of delay.

well the speed of sound is 1,125 ft/s at 60 deg so good luck on breaking that down to 9 inches or so:icon_thumby:

lol didnt mean to be a tool

every 6.5-7inches away is .5ms differance
