Turbo truggy

Adapter pipe?

The front discharge compressor cover fixes the issue

a section of pipe to alter the position of the turbo.

your braver then me... there is no way in hell I would build a rig with a tiny engine that was not ridiculously easy to work on from the room afforded because it was custom built...that engine bay framework has me at a loss....from the pictures...you bust an engine or trans mount and wad up the turbo at w.o.t. its gonna be a bummer..

To each their own. I’m not going to remote the turbo. If anything, I’d move it back towards the firewall by building a new manifold.

I’m not sure why you think this is hard to work on. What do you do in your engine bay? I can easily get to the intake and exhaust sides; I can change a head gasket in this quicker than a stock ranger, and I can reach the bellhousing bolts from the dog box.

I agree man to each their own.

I think it's awesome and I agree it's more logical then a "engineered" vehicle. a miss is as good as a mile!

A silicone 90 elbow would work as well wouldn't it? I guess that would mean an additional clamp though.

Loving the progress! Looks great man. :icon_thumby:

I was planning on using a silicone 90, but I have the outlet right between the manifold and the wastegate. It’s a little too close for my liking.

I get what he’s saying about the risk of a broken motor mount. I’m not worried about the, because the engine can’t shift far enough to the passenger side to run the Turbo into the strut.

remote? no...didn't mean that.

I meant a short section with a slight tweak to reorient it a bit. not enough pictures to know what you have, just going on the comment you made.

I like to be able to quickly remove the powertrain complete if possible. and the most room I can manage. I assume you will use filler panels of some sort. when its hot and an issue comes up while your thrashing on it...its nice to be able to get my big dumb head in there to investigate....

if the front is wide open it makes that easy. t case or trans leaks when you can remove as an assembly quickly makes keeping things clean and dry a breeze......of course using light weight stuff it don't matter. my setup is 4 years old and don't really leak...but that is not always the case.

not knocking you, to each their own.

Haven’t had much time to work on the ranger the past ten days. I played around with some paint on the back of the cab. I want to have that painted before I start building the back half. I think it’s going to look good in machinery gray.

I’ve been busy working on other rigs lately. Once I finish this scout cage, I’ll get back to the ranger.

Nice looking Scout 800! Very sweet cage too.

Thanks. It isn’t mine, but it’s pretty clean. It’s getting an explorer 5.0, ZF5, np205 combo

Got a little work done on the back half
