Turbo swap!

damn, what a mess. did you build your own wiring harness?
glad you got it running though...must be getting close. do you have video capabilities?

It was a mess! It's not that bad now. I just reused the harness out of the t-bird and did not mess with anything that did not go to the computer on the 3.0 harness. I do have a video of it running for the first time.

upload it to youtube (if you dont have an account, you can sign up for free), then post the link here. thats the easiest way to share vids.

freakin' sweet! listen to that baby whistle...

whats the plan for exhaust?

dont do a 40...everyone and their brother has a 40. do something unique. are you aiming for an all-out street assult machine? or is this going to be more of a sleeper?

for a sleeper, id get something big and quiet (maybe something intended for a mustang...alot of those are availible in 3".

if its going to be loud and crude: 3" glasspack, duel tips before the rear tire (although the side exit is getting a little played out IMO).

Run it strait piped and dump it out the side before the rear tire. Or just down pipe off the turbo :D

All you 2.3 turbo bastards make me want to get a 2wd 2.3 ranger and do a swap :thefinger: Turbo engines shouldn't have chambered mufflers like a flowmaster, I would do what dangerranger01 said. If it's too loud put a glasspack on it.

that pile of wires cracks me up :D

sounds pretty good though. that must be a camera phone vid...

Well I went to bolt the power steering pump out of the t-bird on yesterday and it would not clear the gear box. So today i went to the junk yard and bought a power steering pump and all the serpentine pulley out of a mid 80's ranger. I cleaned it all up and put it all in. I also put in my new radiator today.
Turbo swap!
