Trying to find the source of annoying clunk/popping.

Hello everyone. I recently bought a 98 ranger xlt 2wd to use as a small work truck. I have been going over the truck trying to find issues and solve them now, rather than have a 230k mile truck with issues begin to pile up on top of existing issues.
I went over the truck with a mechanic buddy of mine while he was in town. to help me find stuff to fix, etc etc.
Well, I have parts waiting for installation to replace the pads and rotors up front, I have replaced both blown front shocks, and I am going to check the rear shocks as well. We inspected for play in the front end linkage, ball joints, tie-rods, and swaybar end links are all good.

The issue is this: on braking when weight shifts to the front of the vehicle, there will be a pop/clunk that comes from the passenger side front of the vehicle. you can feel it in the floorboard from the driver's seat, if you're sitting in the passenger seat its a lot more noticeable. It seems to disappear when its raining, and other than while braking, it only happens when turning the wheel to near the extreme. I don't notice any noise really when going over bumps, or rough roads. I'm stumped on finding the source of this clunk and its making me nuts.
any ideas? Thanks guys!

my b2 would clunk any time i accelerated or braked after i lifter my truck, it turn out to be that my new springs were bouncing back and forth upon the bolt that holds them to the ttb. i had to machine a ring spacer to fit between the springs and bolts
