So my front driver's side has been making a pretty bad clunking/popping at low speeds like in parking lots and roads up to 25 mph or so. feels almost the same as when my old auto hubs went out.
I thought maybe a u-joint up front so I unlocked the hubs and turned 4wd off, noise still there.
So I thought maybe loose lug nuts, bad wheel bearing but I have it all apart right now and everything looks great and feels tight.
What else could I check?
It's getting worse, almost sounds like something scraping as the wheel turns up front, in addition to the clunking.
It's a 93 ex cab 4.0 5spd 4x4.
Thanks guys

Oh and it doesn't seem to be there under acceleration, just when I am coasting with my foot off the pedal (which again, is why i thought u-joints first)

When I spun the wheel on jacks there was no noise. brakes looked fine, and it cant be the driveshaft because my hubs are unlocked so the only things moving are the wheels. I am about out of ideas. its bad enough to where people stare as I drive down the road. I hate being that guy in the pos truck

I had a few things like this.
1. One of the retaining pins for my brake caliper had somehow wiggled its self free
2. radius arm busing has gone bad
3. One of the press in lug studs in my brake caliper loosened up and was causing all kinds of noise

mine was missing the brake "anti rattle" clips. every bump and you thought the whole front end was going to fall off. couldn't hear it at freeway speeds, but around town and it was loud! got those little things and put them in and now everything is nice and quiet.

well, i took everything apart and put it back together and now everything is quiet. Something must have been loose although i didnt find anything. oh well!

my driver's side was clicking and clunking too and 4wd wouldn't work so i swapped the auto hubs took driver's side put it on passenger's side, pass side to driver's side and now 4wd works but the clicking is still there and it still clunks but not as bad. its only $300 cad to swap to manual hubs so im thinking about doing that.
