Truckspotters

As far as I know, no one in our family has ever traced the family lineage that hard. I know there is Scot, Irish, English, Welsh, Austrian, and maybe some French in the family blood line but that is about it.
My grandfather had an entire room in his house dedicated to books and binders full of family history. He spent 15 years of his life tracing family both here and through Europe. He spent months digging through Ellis Island records. He has headstone etchings, newspaper clippings, old pictures, etc. He traced the family all the way back to the Roman Emperor Charlemagne.
My uncle has all of that now, and I’ll probably be the next one to store it for the family when he passes. He didn’t just go back… he followed the branches forward and found distant cousins that are barely related.

Does that count for anything?
You should have jumped in the drivers seat and taken that thing for a joyride!!!

Someone should start a family history/ genealogy thread.

As far as the redneck thing, I come by it naturally. Not only was I born in South Carolina and spent the first four or five years of my life there and in Texas, I've live in Appalachia the majority of my life in Southwestern Pennsyltucky 15-20 minutes away from West Virginia and southern Ohio.

I've lived in Ohio all my life so far. I've travel to a few different states. I have a brother that lives in Washington State I've been there and all the states to get there.

A lot of my mom's family are from Alaska.
A lot of my dad's family are from KenF**ky.

Our "regionality" is a big part of what makes us American, and unique on this planet.

"From many we are one".

The fact that we can all get along so well, is something to be appreciated.

I once stepped foot into...

Does that count for anything?

Yes.

It says that you're a tough old bastard, that the rest of us should respect.

Just for setting foot inside a wienermobile?

I'm guessing that he was there for the free hotdogs.

To survive that . . .
I'd prefer the Hershey Kiss-mobile. Last time I saw it, the crew was pretty nice to look at. And they hand out chocolate.

The Hersey Kiss Mobile is a new one on me.

Sounds like a huge waste of tin-foil hat material.

If you ride in that, you're riding in the foil hat.
