I have a 2006 ford ranger 4.0 fx4 SOHC manual trans with 336k already. Last Friday when I'm off work ,truck starts no problem but when I drove it maybe half kilometer suddenly battery shows on the dash and CEL.. then just stalled I can't get to drive anymore.. I just recently replaced my battery.. so i stop on the shoulder check my battery connection and unplug the negative then plug back .. it will starts but engine runs so rough too much vibration and feels low compression on it..any help please?also a week ago I put my truck on the dealership for the air bag recall I don't know if they did something wrong when they service my truck because I don't have any problem of my truck before that?? Any thoughts?

First thought, that's not an introduction. Technical questions would better asked in the appropriate sub forum. In this case the 4.0L section or the electrical section. You'll get more responses, and more on point responses when posting in the right section.

Second thought, maybe bad battery/alternator. The truck doesn't sound drivable, but if you remove them your local store can check to see if they are functioning properly. IIRC the battery light usually shows that it isn't charging right. Basically everything made in the last 30 years is very sensitive to having good clean power, and won't run right if they don't get it. Having a bad alternator or battery could definitely cause that.

Also get that CEL checked/diagnosed before you throw many parts at it. The CEL was trying to tell you something, it bay be the cause of the problem or it may be a side effect, but won't know anything for certain without checking it. Even if the light is off now, a good scanner may show past codes.

I would start with checking all connections at battery, starter relay, alternator and grounds between engine and fram/battery. Then, alternator health. What is battery voltage before you start it? What is voltage immediately after starting and again, 3-5 minutes after starting (engine still running).
