TRS Dearborn Michigan Meet & Greet

A 3.5 hour drive is not that far.
We would like to attend with our '88.

WOWZ!

Looks like myself and fastpakr will both be staying at the Westin Hotel at the airport in Detroit. The forecast temperature has dropped 10 degrees (for now) to 46 and mostly sunny on Sunday. While it may be a nice day for a drive, it's going to be a little chilly to stand around in a parking lot.

With that in mind, I'm thinking about a Meet & Greet at Buffalo Wild Wings. Plenty of space to park together and look at each others vehicles, and some place to socialize indoors so were not standing around for hours in a parking lot.

Still working on the time. I requested a flight that would have me in Detroit before noon.

Thoughts?

Is anything going to be happening at MAP itself? Since my bronco2 is more off road than it is daily driver I will have to trailer it up there and unload someplace safe. I was hoping I could do that at MAP or if I have to I could talk to security at my plant up the road. A c4,456 gears and drive slugs dont make mine very street friendly.

It's official, the wiffie and I are in on this deal.
I'll be driving "junior", my 2005 Ranger with 345,000+ miles on it. Bought it new as a work truck.

A bit late to the party, but since I live about a half hour away...fair to assume I might be welcome to attend?

'85 newly swapped to a twin plug EFI 2.3.

Worth noting this thing is super rough around the edges, so if there is a preferred "quality" of truck, I might be below that line...

Whatever "quality" it is you used some really good bumper polish in the center of your front bumper. :icon_thumby:

And definitely come - the more the better!

Anyone with a Ford Ranger or Bronco II is invited. Your truck doesn't have to be 'show quality'.

Yeah, accent lighting works wonders ;)

Sweet, alright. I'll come.

I will not have the use of my smartphone except for wifi where available, once I'm in your country, so if there is a very last minute change of venue (within the hour prior) I probably won't know about it.

My past understanding of Ford's Garage is that it's a great place and can be very hard to get into in a timely manner. I've never actually eaten there because the wait for a table for two has always been north of an hour (Saturday evenings generally). Is there a plan to figure out reservations or just wait however long it takes at the time?

Also is the initial meetup location FG or is it somewhere else, and then convoying to FG? (seems like the former)

If for some reason we had to move from there, we would go to:

Buffalo Wild Wings
22216 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124
(313) 359-1800

https://maps.google.com/?cid=15201108961662461362

It's just a short distance up the street on the opposite side of the road.

I wouldn't think it would be that bad on a Sunday at 1pm. The Detroit Lions play at noon, so people may either be home watching that, or at a sports bar. We can't make a reservation unless we have 20 people.

Right now we have (5) going and (10) interested.

You can always pull up kinda close to a fast food joint (Mcdonalds, Burger King etc) and tap into their free wifi to check for updates too. :icon_thumby:
