Hey guys,

Just a quick question on transmission lengths. Im running an old FMX (only because it was mated to my 79' 302 and without problems) but I was wondering if anyone had tried to mate it to a stock driveshaft without mod's?

Its longer than a C4 but is it the same length as a C6? Im pretty sure we have a few inches of play when dropping the driveline in so the yoke will fit but will I need to have a new driveshaft made up?

Also, its a 2wd v6 ranger so Im assuming the trans mount will work (as it says in the swap thread) but will the x-member have to be moved?

Thx.

You won't know the answer to this until you have the motor and transmission in place. The driveshaft is about the last thing to address in a swap. You'll need the FMX's driveshaft yoke too, it's a 31 spline yoke like the C-6's are. The transmission cross member may need to be relocated or you might get away with an adapter plate.
