I have a ford ranger that I use as a parts truck and I sold the 5 speed transmission to a fella the other day. He called me back and said his driveshaft wouldn't fit in the transmission I sold him so now he wants me to give him my driveshaft too. My parts truck was manufactured in June of 87 (which would make it an 88 model right?). It was a carbureted 2.0 4 cyl. He claims his ranger is an 88 4 banger, also. I am not sure why the driveshaft would not fit. What is going on here?

Yes, that's right, I am responding to my own post first. Apparently my truck is in fact an 87, hence the problems with his truck fitting the trans. properly. He says the gear shifter hole in the truck is a different cut and he thinks he could make it work with my driveshaft and maybe cutting some extra space for the shifter. Any experience from anyone with a similar experience feel free to comment.
