Clean your room before you criticise the world.
If any one has a awesome setup for pulling the trans out the lifted rangers b2s etc let's see some pics help give some insight to me and others like me who use a floor jack some wood and a handful of buddies

I used this and some 2x4 to hold the trans in a lifted F150 with 33s (maybe 35s, I don't remember) while I replaced the engine. I also use it on my Ranger for trannies, and when I do the trans I pull the front onto ramps and jack the back end up level, so it is pretty high up.

The only thing to watch is the table is V-bottomed, so a 4x4 M5OD will roll easily with the t-case on.

ive been pulling my transmission alot to, and i always just manhandle the stupid thing which for a 140 lbs guy is relatively heavy.

my friends dad built a new plate for his floor jack that has adjustment holes built in allowing for up to 6" of height. it just drops in where the old plate pulls out. ive pulled a 727 out of a 6 inch lifted ramcharger on 35s with it.

I use a couple of motorcycle tie-down straps (the regular friction-grip kind, not the ratchet type) under the trans & over each frame rail to hold the trans in place while sliding it backward off the engine. Then carefully lower it down by releasing each strap a few inches at a time until it's down on the ground.

I used a tranny jack last time. It worked ok but was still too tall get get trans out from under my truck so I had to wrestle it off the jack and drag it out from under the frame on the floor.

If I did it more I think I would try to make something that bolted on the rear (4wd) and had legs that the trans could go between.

Heck while I am dreaming make it adjustable tilt too. :icon_idea:

I have a transmission jack now which has made life a little easier, but in the past I will just slide the transmission under the truck, lift the bellhousing up onto the radius arm crossmember, and then push it up into position with no jack at all, then support it with a ratchet strap or pieces of wood once it's in place. Doing it this way allows for a lot of fine adjustments that you don't have with most jacks but it's physically demanding.

Cherry picker in through the front to lift from the front with a ratchet strap around the bell housing and a single 4 inch ratchet strap(from a flad bed semi trailer) to support the transfer case and just pull it free from the motor and then start letting the cherry picker down and then man handle the trans out of the 4 inch strap and to the ground. Did it myself and put it back in this way.

The clutch job on the Rat was my first in 30 yrs plus and that was a bug. I got the the trans out by dropping it onto a pair of old tires stacked. Just like dropping a bug engine The Rat's frame was blocked up on 2 feet of cement blocks and dunnage. Its a transmission, not a TV set. And For a lousy clutch job, I'm gonna pay for a bunch of gear to get the job done? No way, I rocked the transmission front to back whilst i built a crib out of 2 X blocks. I started from a plastic milk crate beside the door. I slid the whole business sidewise under the truck on a piece of plywood. Then I played a game of reverse Chenga with 2X blocks. When I got close the thickness went to 3/4", Got lined up straight an level . Caught the clutch splines with a little fiddling and pushed it into the new pilot bearing. Slicker'n snot. Just like I knew what I was doing. Then I went in, had some lunch and took a nap. :D

Ok so there's a few different ways everyone does it and they all involve some manhandling I think for the future I'll get a harbor freight trans Jack and and start there with some 2x4 see what shakes loose I also like the ratchet strap idea around the frame rails thanks guys
