Transmission problem

My transmission wont go into drive or any gear anymore but reverse. It use to after a while of revvin now it dont anymore

I'm assuming what you mean is only reverse works, and when you put it in any other gear, you get nothing.

With that, my first guess is that your forward clutch is cooked.

In any case, it's probably time for a rebuild or replacement.

It goes into gear finally after i rev up the motor me and dad r just gonna readjust the bands

Hate to ruin your day man but adjusting bands wont help anything. Hope I am wrong!
Sounds like you have low fluid level. filter or pump, pressure regulator valve or as mentioned burnt forward clutch pack issues. And you have been driving it like this for how long?

Start with checking the fluid level on a cold engine and fill to the cold fill marks on the dip stick.

Then start the engine and run the shifter through all gear positions to see if they engage. Warm engine up to op temp and check trans fluid level again using hot fill marks.

Trans fluid expands as it heats up, so if it's not engaging until you've revved the engine a while, it could just be low fluid.

If that doesn't correct the problem, then something more serious is probably going on...

It's got more than full tranny fluid. By tightening the bands it sort of helps just findin the right spot is hard. Someone said it could just be the forward clutch but that makes no sense cause once in gear it shifts fine. Transman ive been driving like this for almost 150 miles id say.

Sounds like valve body to me.

Time to put a manual trans in it. Only place an auto is worth it's weight in chicken shit is at the scrap scale.

Then id have to cut and mount a clutch another a4ld is only 300$
