I am considering rebuilding my transfer case. The front output bearing seems to be a little loose. I have looked for rebuild kits and am not sure what to get. I want to use a top quality kit and don't mind paying for it. I just don't want to pay more and get less.

Does anyone have a good source for a good quality transfer case rebuild kit? Mine is a manual shift transfer case but I don't think the internals are any different from the electric shift internals.

the manual t-case where i live is only 75$ at the junkyard, 35$ at the pull n save, if you can find it. are you sure you wanna rebuild it?

swynx, a manual Tcase is something I'd want someday.. seems like the shift linkage iis always lost or missing.

Yes, I would like to rebuild mine. I know the history of my transfer case because I bought the truck new. A junk hard transfer case could be in a lot worse condition than mine. Mine is actually working very well. I just think the front output bearing is a little on the loose side. Since I have to break the case apart to change that bearing, I might as well do a full bearing and seal rebuild. I plan to keep it for a long time.

I may just ask my brother to do it when I am in Kansas in October. He has a repair shop and can get the rebuild kit. He should know which good quality.
