I have been searching countless forums for information on mountain trail gear rock sliders. I decided to make an account so that I could ask this question. I know that you can get the 78" ones with the gussets for mounting and they will work well. I have an extended cab and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or pictures of the locations on the frame where the legs for the sliders should be welded to?

A couple other guys chimed in on what they had for sliders HERE

Shran has them on his Explorer too.

^ yup, what they said.

I guess I just wasn't looking hard enough for info. Thanks for the help everyone.

I got the sliders all welded up and I'm really happy with how they look, I ended up going with the 67" ones and just made them level. Ignore the dent on the truck, my spotters sometimes have issues.

Someday I want to get rid of the factory step tubes... they really don't work as a step and won't really save the truck sheet metal if you bump them hard.

I would like to see a direct side view to see how well they line up to the cab. I would most likely install them level... my wife is 5 foot nothing and at least level she could use them for a step.

I was thinking the step tubes would push against some of the lower rocks we have around here and not do much about the trees but those are easy to navigate anyway, I just did them level to have some rocker protection and a pivot point around shorter obstacles.

I don't have a picture of them like that but I will take one tomorrow before I work and send it once I get home in the evening.

Oh also a side note that I forgot to add is that i had to cut a bit right off of where the fender mounts up to the body to get the fitment I wanted on them.

I can also get a picture of how they are mounted on the frame if anyone would like those pictures, I know there isn't many photos of how people have mounted them on here.
