Toyota... even more shady?

In that case, I think everyone should have to pass a CDL road test to drive. 10 speed manual and all. I find truck drivers to be better drivers overall. And motorcyclists are more aware of their surroundings so people should have to pass that too.

Yeah! and they have to shift without using the clutch!(speed shifting):headbang:

Ever since I had a bike I noticed my awareness has become 400 times what it used to be. I dont even have a bike anymore, but I still drive the same.

Its a good experiance everyone should go through. Makes you think twice about texting or using a cell phone in general when you know you almost died on a bike becuase of some douche bag doing that.

:agree:
thats something everyone has to be aware of, not just people that had a bike.

Now that is smart, I have talked to EMT's. They feel you get what you deserve for riding a bike, and I agree.

I rather drive a '72 Pinto than die on a over-rated POS Harley.

it's true we may be releasing bad stuff into the atmosphere but where are they going to dump their battery goo when the have to change the batteries in a couple years. and they weren't neccesarily hiding it. remember (a is the probable rate of failure, b is the number of vehicles in the field, and c is the average out of court settlement) a x b x c = X if X costs less than a recall they don't do one. Of course they knew about it the X just wasn't more than a recall or the stopped production. toyota forgot that if they let X get to the point where it was more, the number of vehicles affected would be noticed because they produce so much. mmmmmm thats crappy communication and fore thought but prolly not a conspiracy.

After you drive for a while, it's actually much easier without the clutch. Go figure.:icon_thumby:

I agree on the Harley part. I had two, they sucked.

Harley Davidson are over rated pieces of SHIT. For the money you can get SO MUCH MORE PERFORMANCE from a Honda or a Suzuki.

They are overrated, and overpriced, Harley culture is evolving- and its not for the better- old people in a mid-life crisis trying to hang on to their glory years running out and buying a way over priced motorcycle.

ALL Harleys, although a piece of U.S. motoring history, are UGLY, SLOW, and HEAVIER than a WHALE! Riding a Harley is like putting 2 wheels on a bathtub! Way WAY OVERRATED motorcycles primarily ridden by fat, ugly, redneck Americans.

I have come across a few, but not all, HD riders that are simply arrogant bastards that think HD is the only bike on the planet. They would like you to believe that if you are not riding a HD, then you are not even riding something worthy to be called a motorcycle.

I ride what I want, when I want and I don't need anybodies permission or justification to do so. You and everybody else are welcome to do the same.

now don't get me started on BMW bikes.....:annoyed::icon_surprised:

Toyota, like firestone a few years back, is getting railroaded, pure and simple.

Well if this is going to turn into a Harley bashing thread, im in with ya'll.

I had a 2005 Honda VTX 1300R LOL.

You know what the best part of owning the Honda was? It STARTED when summer came around!

You are aware I was serious right? I REALLY think Harley is crap. I have a Suzuki Bandit and Yamaha Roadstar Warrior. I sold the Harley's to buy these.

Agreed. After I earned my CDL, I think I became a more aware driver (which you need you need espeaccly if you drive in Boston on occasion). I've learned what to expect based on a few subtle clue other drivers give me in their actions.

I have friends ride with me and afterward remark about how smooth I am behind the wheel. Driving with a few loads of eggs can teach you that real quick! :icon_twisted:

At very least all drivers should have a DOT physical every two years, no matter if you're driving a Ferarri or a Freightliner!

I agree that motorcyclists are better drivers and more aware of their surroundings, but some people just shouldn't be on a bike. I'm one of them.

I had a really bad ear infection when I was 13 and is screwed over my sense of balance. I can be standing still with people moving around me and it can give me vertigo.

I belong on nothing less than 4 wheels.

Sounds good to me. I'd still like to see people have to be able to drive stick (baring a physical disability) to be able to pass. There aren't as many mannies out there anymore, but there are still times its needed.
