Totalled My Truck...Flipped 2x

Im not spitting bullshit...and im not trying to blame the kid either. I know it was my fault, I knew it was my fault when I was climbing out of the truck. I was just trying to clear up exactly what happend, and letting people know that I looked, didnt see him and went. I didnt fly across the street, or do anything illegal. I just...missed his car and was stating that he couldve prevented the accident, but so could I if I had just waited a little longer, but that didnt go through my head. The fact that I saw no cars coming and I had enough time to get across the street was in my head, so I went and THEN after crossing one lane of traffic, I saw him.

So 86ford....you dont have to "defend" me, no one has to, but I do give thanks to those who do. I also didnt expect to get "attacked" from this post, but apparantly, people are going to do it.

So, to anyone I may have offended or made angry, whatever it was I did. Whether or not it makes a difference or you care, I apologize.

sounds good. i am happy to see everything is going well considering whats happened.

Some people get lucky and dont crash... I got lucky that I didnt flip a Jeep when I lost control and did 360s doing 40+mph. I also got lucky that I'm still alive, and my car isnt totaled after my tire blew at 80mph.

Sorry to hear about your truck and the a-hole people who are posting BS on here.

SHIT HAPPENS people, deal with it.

we've all made mistakes weather they be involving vehicles or not. but whats important here is no one was hurt. and yea i think 12inch of lift is nuts but it did look good crawlin the mall... were it looks like by the pictures it eventually ended its life.

seriously though if i wrecked my truck id be sad. im kinda sad now. at least the motor, trans and t-case or good. build a buggy

this thread has outlived its usefulness

I cleaned most of the crap out of this thread.

I was a Technical Crash Investigator and investigated crashes for 15-years.

First off, I know somebody isn't going to intentionally pull out in front of another vehicle to get hit. Especially if they have a nice vehicle.

Secondly, while you're usually at fault when you pull out in front of someone and get hit, in Ohio the other person you're yielding to has to be in legal use of the road.

Therefore, if a crash like this happened in Ohio (I don't know what the law is in your state..) and the kid in the car was shown to be speeding, he would be at fault as well. The insurance company would likely settle based on % of fault.

I had a case where a guy in a pickup pulled out in front of a motorcycle and the rider died. The rider layed his bike down before impact showing he was aware the crash was about to happen.

We couldn't get a conviction in court because the rider of the motorcycle was under the influence of alcohol and therefore not in legal use of the road.
