Totalled My Truck...Flipped 2x

I'm not saying it was the other guy's fault that it happened, But I am saying that it could have been avoided. Everybody involved in an accident has to be able to take some of the blame. If he got out and stated "I didnt see you" That statement could be used as what is practically confessing to being at fault.

I'm not saying to ring the guy and his insurance, but I believe that a poor choice on the road can be saved by people paying better attention. I believe both are at fault, the OP didnt look long enough, while the other guy wasnt paying enough attention to react. I know that everyone thinks that when the situation rises that they will be able to avoid a wreck. But when it does arise, you dont hardly have any time to react.

You should work for State Farm. They like to spread the blame around in an accident so a poor college student only gets 75% of what he needs to fix his vehicle because "he should have seen the accident coming". If someone pulls out in front of me and I hit'em, there's no way I would accept partial responsibility. Shit happens, someone's gotta pay, and that someone isn't going to be me in a scenario like that.

Taking your eyes off the road for 1 second or even two is not negligence.

Even if it results in a death?

So....using this theorem, if you turn your head...taking your eyes off the road for TWO SECONDS, and then turn back just in time to see that baby stroller rolling out from between those parked cars, slamming your brakes but not being able to stop in time to keep it from going under your truck.....You wouldn't consider that negligence?

Ask that dead child's mother if SHE thinks it was...

Everything is relative man.

Generally doesn't the Officer at the scene decide who is at fault? So how can an insurance company come around and change the rules in the middle of the game?

greg,

please STFU NOW. i have defended you and warned you but you continue to spit BULLSHIT out in your defense. failing to yield is your fault REGARDLESS of how fast the other person is going. if you pull out of your driveway and a vette takes you at 85 in a 35 it is STILL your fault. period. part of driving is reading speed and judging distance. if you cant judge distance get corrective lenses or quit driving.

Its real easy to not see a car when ur pulling out, some vechiles are worse than others. My work truck is a 96 ram 2500, and between the wide ass a pillar and big mirrors, ive almost pulled out infront of a few cars. and i looked for at least a second before pullin out. Shit happens hopefully u get something out of the truck.

**** THE HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yall are assholes....why cant everyone on herre be chill...what have you never been a dumbass and gotten in a wreck and it being your fault..if you havent wrec ked you must be one of those pansy bullshit grandma drivers.

You know, my father has never been in a wreck before in the 40 years he's been driving. He's one of the craziest drivers I know. Complete opposite of a "grandma" driver. My brother also has never been in a wreck before, he actually WANTS to. But, nope, no wrecks. Even though he used to go about 60 70 down back dirt roads, and jump up to 80 on the highway. Still, no wrecks. My sister drives like an idiot. No wrecks. The only one who actually has been in a wreck is my mother, she "drove like a grandma". A guy was high and speeding at about 80 down a 55, illegally passing 3 cars as she made a left hand turn into a driveway. Hit her about 6 inches ahead of the drivers side door. Car still sits in my driveway as a reminder. She ended up in the hospital and has been going through YEARS of pain and suffering because someone wasn't a "pansy bullshit grandma driver". She's still in pain, it's been eight years. Thanks for calling her a pansy bullshit driver, you piece of shit.

There's an innumerable amount of people that have never been in a wreck. I am one of them.

i blame all those damn lift blocks in the rear. get hit, snap goes a u bolt, then takes out the others/and or slides out a block, axle gives way, truck flip over...

no black stacking people....no tall blocks either people...

You must be friends with oatmeal here, the other site d---head.

Don't know oatmeal but if calling you out and not writing "oh man, that sucks. You should sue the guy even though you were in the wrong. Get all you can from insurance." makes me a dickhead, so be it.
I've been called worse to my face.

:icon_rofl:

Sorry to hear about your truck, accidents suck.

Only been in 1 when I was 16, crossed a busy street at night with cars parked on the the side of the street, hit a dark blue car in a Dodge Lancer that didn't have it's lights on. The only way you can really see if someone is coming at all at night on that intersection is if they have their heads lights on because you simply cannot see through parked cars. :icon_twisted:

I did $2,000+ dollars in damage. The Lancer just had a dented in bumper, but otherwise drove fine. Hit it in the driver's side, right after the front wheel. Long story, but it ended up being a no fault.

i know how that is , i was pulling out of a parking space in my 96 ranger , it was when i had the 32's on it , went to pull out , kid came flying up the laneway , i did noy see him between the height of my truck , the pillar and the mirror , he was in a ford contour , i clipped him , i put a fist sized dent in his car , no damage to my truck

well we live in a no fault under $1000 accident state , his mom was a bitch and filed a claim anyway , and yes it was my fault , but when i looked about a minute before i pulled out , he wasnt there , and i was parked about 4 spots from the back in a lot that was about 25 spots from one curb to the other

Im not spitting bullshit...and im not trying to blame the kid either. I know it was my fault, I knew it was my fault when I was climbing out of the truck. I was just trying to clear up exactly what happend, and letting people know that I looked, didnt see him and went. I didnt fly across the street, or do anything illegal. I just...missed his car and was stating that he couldve prevented the accident, but so could I if I had just waited a little longer, but that didnt go through my head. The fact that I saw no cars coming and I had enough time to get across the street was in my head, so I went and THEN after crossing one lane of traffic, I saw him.

So 86ford....you dont have to "defend" me, no one has to, but I do give thanks to those who do. I also didnt expect to get "attacked" from this post, but apparantly, people are going to do it.

So, to anyone I may have offended or made angry, whatever it was I did. Whether or not it makes a difference or you care, I apologize.
