We have been swinging between 2* and 60* for the past couple weeks.
Was in the 50s the past couple days, rained all day yesterday and changed to snow last night. We got a dusting and it’s still flurries. Creek is presently at the top of the bank in the backyard was higher last night
Glad you’re not more seriously injured! After a couple close calls, I try to be very careful. Chock wheels, use jackstands, try to work on the level when possible, etc. If it’s 4x4, I’ll often put it in 4x4 if I have to jack it up, there’s more tires connected to the driveline that way. If it has to be on jack stands for say, working on an axle or something, I get it set the way I want and try shaking the vehicle to see how stable it is. If it’s not stable, things get repositioned or more support is added or both until I’m confident that a bump won’t bring it down. Can you tell I’ve had them come off jacks and jackstands before? LolIt was 81 here today. It would have been nice if I didn't have colonoscopy and then get crunched my my wrangler for doing something dumb.
Now I am off work for few days with muscle relaxers and pain killers.
Was changing the u-joints on the rear axle and forgot, or didn't think I would need wheel chocks. Asked my son to set the e-brake after I realized all the bad moves I had made to the point and the jeep rolled off the ramps. I rolled and pulled out of the way of the diff and shock mount but since I was on left side, the skid plate crushed me straight down. Pushing my shoulders towards each other with a horrible bone crunching sound.
Er said I was super lucky because no broken or fractured bones. They said they couldn't believe how lucky I was but they said it's a crush injury and is going to be terribly painful tomorrow.
No idea why I didn't put chocks or pull the e-brake. Complacency? Over confidence? No idea. Hurts now though
