My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Woke up this morning and it was snowing. Everything looked nice. The wind was picking up. Already had a bit more snow than they said we would get. So, I thought, "Maybe we'll get more snow and less sleet than predicted. That would be nice." By the time I got out of the shower, it was sleeping. Supposed to flip-flop between the two all day with wind gusts up to 38mph. Forgot to bring the shovel in from the shed yesterday.

Yuck.

Just starting to stick here. Depending on the forecast we're looking at somewhere between three and seventeen inches today. The only thing everyone agrees on is that something is coming.

We got a little snow yesterday... maybe an inch.

It is a nice 9 degrees this morning... so there is that.

I’ve heard anywhere from 1”-16” here, but the unofficial weather prediction runs from a half inch of nothing up to 3’, so I guess we’ll find out when it gets here. Hasn’t started yet, got a couple inches of sun going on right now and it’s a balmy 11*

4 below right now, sunny.

STARTING with snow tomorrow morning while warming up to 40°, then it'll be a big sloppy mess, then it's only gonna get to about 20° for Tuesday so.... great icy start to the week.

That is about what we got yesterday. Lots of drifting.

Officially we got 2" which is BS.

Nine degrees and frosty this morning. Sun is bright and shiny though so it's enjoyable.

I need to go get that shovel before the shed door freezes shut. But I don't want to go out there.

1-2” expected today through tomorrow am. Nothing right now, just 15 degrees & sunny. southeastern ohio is expected to get quite a bit. Im ready for a storm if we were to get one. Propane tank full, kerosene jugs full, all vehicles at least 3/4 full of fuel, better tractor with blade this year. Also have a brand new generator in the garage, have yet to take it out of the box. It was 55 last week for a day or two.

Pay one of the neighbor kids 5 bucks to go get it lol

Got the shovel. I measured 5-6" of mixed snow/sleet on the ground. I won't shovel til it's over. I prefer to have fluffy snow under the ice as opposed to letting the ice build up directly in the sidewalk/patio/driveway. Much easier to peel a layer of ice off the top and then shovel snow.

Neighbor on one side - old retired Russian couple. Neighbor on other side - teenage son who "says" he's interested in engineering but spends all his time playing video games. Never see him outside. Told his mom several times that he is welcome to come over and watch/help me wrenching on stuff and that I would be happy to mentor him and help him learn mechanical, electrical, electronics, etc. Never see him.
