todays Bronco II

ya yj or xj are not going to happen. TJ mybee, but i doubt it. unless someone comes up with a rig i havent even thought of it will be ether the Escape, or the liberty. and it dont have to be brand new. the point was that it dont have to be brand new, just much newer. and the newest B2 i could getr would be 21 years old. ill probably be looking at somthing in the 2006-2009 range.

Because by the time they get far enough down the line to really qualify as a offroader they are not worth a whole lot (down to the any 4x4 that runs and drives is worth a grand rule of thumb), doesn't matter the make or model. Not many people new truck just to beat on it in the woods.

One of the reasons (and probably the biggest reason) RBV's are as popular as they are for offroading is they are cheap.

i completely disagree with you...

this is a video of my 07 ranger, and my buddy's 02 sport trac from october?

year doesn't mean as much as you would think...

and yes, when buying a new vehicle, the original owner will take into consideration the resale value 10 years from now... but it's really only the sale price that the first owner will get that comes into play for the manufacture

Me and most of the car buying public disagrees with you.

Unless it is a work truck that requires it (farm, construction...) you will find many new vehicles are pretty much pavement pounders whether you want to believe it or not.

Year means a heck of a lot more than you think, most people are NOT going to go out and blow $20-50k on a brand new truck to drag it along trees or sink up the headlights in mud. And the last thing people who does do that think about is resale value... or they wouldn't do it.

again... i disagree, there's a reason i don't bush wack... mud and hills don't scratch, and if it does scratch, it's not just a scratch, it will be enough to get insurance to buy me a new truck! :D

there are enough people who take newer vehicles into the bush, that the resale value of these vehicles should be taken into consideration... the toyota group i wheel with 90% of the trucks i go into the bush with (nothing close enough to scratch) are newer than 2000 some are 2010's

where i live though, sells more trucks per capita than nearly anywhere else in north america i think...
