To set my rear pinion angle..

I dunno DG, that sounds like a pretty good explanation to me.

Thanks DG, I know I originally asked the question months ago but I finally got to the point to where I'm setting up my 8.8 haha.

That's definitely going to help, along with the photos and tips a few others posted.

I am doing this same swap in my '93 Supercab 4x4. My plan was to use this same gauge we are talking about here, and measure the current (stock) setup by finding the difference between the pinion flange and the spring perch. Then simply replicate the same angle on the 8.8. Any problem with this method?

the stock setup worked fine, reason I'm swapping is that the original diff self destructed with some snap crackle pop action, but the driveshaft always ran smooth.

Thank you DG! and all of you guys actually, i wont get around to the other 3” in the rear for the next month or so, but when i do i will deff cut my spring perches and rotate my pumpkin! This week end i can finally finish my front end!
i got some bad advice from a 4x4 shop in bumf*ck boonies out in WA, so i am flipping my shackles from front (earlier wrangler style) to the back, more like a yota (the front axle leaf springs) and swapping out my dangerously saggy and bent springs out for some TrailGear 4” lift 82-86 yota pick up springs!

BUYING AN ANGLE FINDER TMRW! right after the courthouse....
