Hello all, I am new here and have searched the forums and not found an answer. I have a TK% from an 85 2wd ranger looking for a fix for the shifter. cant find a kit. I think the TK4 has metal parts and will fit so thinking that would be the better fix. However I am looking for answers. ON a budget so don't want to go all tricked out. just want a reliable fix Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing a fix for the floppy shifter? Back in the olden days of forums people used the plastic ball from a Craftsman screwdriver handle... I've never had any RBV manual other than the M5OD, so I don't have any personal experience...

If you're lucky, there will be one for sale at a wrecking yard local to you. Or on eBay. There aren't any aftermarket options that I'm aware of.

Your best bet on a budget is get a HF digital caliper and start measuring hard round objects. Or maybe try to get an even coat of epoxy on the original part?
