Hi guys, I'm fairly new to the forum, but looks like a great place!

Looking for some advice on new tires for my '09 Sport. Right now I'm looking at something like the Goodyear Duratrac, somewhere in the 31" to 33" size. I've read a lot of good things about this tire, and I really like the look of it. I want something with an aggresive tread pattern, but I'll be honest, I don't go off-road very often. So on-road durability is important to me.

Can anyone suggest other similar tires to look at for comparison?

Cheers,
Andrew

Hankook Dynapro MT / Kelly Safari TSR / Dunlop Rover MT Max Traction / Fierce Attitude MT / Hercules Trail Digger MT

And so many others that I am forgetting right now

How about the Goform? I'll can't find a pic to link but it's basically a Cooper Discoverer ATP. I got mine from a Cooper dealer. (Small local shop.) IDK if they make them in that size or not. My 235/75R15 was only $450 for 4. They are 6 ply. I know there were some larger metric sizes.

The new bfg is barely new. Crappy tire for way to much money.

Id go with the duratracs, had them for going on a year and love em

The Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T-S will be also great for all terrain and it is more cheaper. I hope you will like it.

If you want an all terrain, falkens wildpeak. If you want a mud terrain, hankooks Mt. If you want a mix between the two, and don't mind a weak sidewall, Goodyear duratracs.

Thornbirds!!!

Just kidding. You don't want a drag radial with sidelugs. If you don't offroad much go with the Duratrac. phenomenal tire performance wise, its only weakness is the sidewall near rocks and stumps. If you don't offroad much its plenty strong for just regular travel.

He is correct on the side walls, my bro put a piece of rebar through one of his. Thats why we always by cerfs from discount, 55$ later and he has a new tire and cerf.

Somebody apparently didn't click the link. :no2:

The BFG AT KO is a great tire, though they do suck in the mud (ANY All-Terrain tire will, they are not made for mud like a Mud-Terrain is).

I've had two experiences with Goodyear tires almost a decade apart (neither were the Duratrac though), and both involved significant quality control and handling issues (the tires being out of round, them slipping on the rims when aired down, to them aggressively following cracks and imperfections in the road surface).

The BFG ATs really are great tires. Been around for 20+ years and still are the AT tire that every company strives to beat in performance and reputation. That new design looks just like whats needed for an AT revision, more aggressive outside lugs for mud.

Lots of nice tread designs on the market now but if you are not concerned with being different and running a tire no one has, run the BFG AT and join the many others that enjoy the reliable performance of those tires.

I've got master craft ( a cooper brand) courser ct. I absolutely love them. They're a really rugged tire with good traction and not a lot of road noise. I had a set on an f250 before but Irolled that. After 6k miles iI can't really tell if they've worn at all. There are a commercial traction tire so they wear slow. The duratracs I had on my 04 wore pretty quick though.
