alright i am ordering my 4.88 gears soon, and i would like to step up my tire size too. as of right now i have 33's with 3.73 gears. Im looking at a tire between a 35 and 36, either tsl radial, irok radial, ssr, or the km2's. What are your opinions on the tires? my truck is my DD and i wheel it on the weekend when i can.

The truxxs is definetly a decent DD/weekend wheeler tire. Good mileage, quite and self cleans pretty well.

35/12.50/15 trxxs $228
35/12.50/15 ssr $286
you would save $60 a tire
For $240 you could buy a spare!

thanks redneck my buddy has those and im not the biggest fan but they are cheaper so ill keep them in mind

KM2s seem to wear pretty well. A couple wheelin buddies of mine run them and seem to like them a lot. Almost anything from Interco will work really well offroad, but none of them are really a good tire for a DD because they wear really fast.

the km2's are a good DD tire, a buddy of mine has them and they make less noise on the road then his snow tires on his accord, and his a/t on his 4 runner. and they do really well on his full size

wat do yall think bout the pro comp xterrains??

I've got 17,000 miles on my BFG KMs, and they're still around 70% tread.

I would think the KM2s would wear similarly.

Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers seem to wear well too (I have a buddy that runs them).

im not sure about the pro comp x terrains but my neighbor has the xtreme all terrains and he likes them alot. they had good tread life amd handled well off road.

The X Terrains are absolute junk.

Maybe check into the new MT/R from goodyear?

Yeah, the Xterains aren't all that great. Myself, I'm running the Xtreme MT's and loving them. So much so that when I went larger, I bought them again. Mileage is quite good with them also... as is the noise (low noise). Honestly, any of the above tires will do you fine in some areas and not so great in others. It's a fine line between having the rite tires for the conditions and not having the rite ones. The choice is ultimately yours.

i like the tsl's cuz they look so mean and are loud on the road, but i like the traditional muds cuz they will last more than a month

I'm not sure they make em in your size but I ran LTB's for about 30k on a 2500 diesel dodge and they still got about 50% left. Mileage was 100% onroad. They were loud but they looked like they would offroad well.

The Interco Trxus Mud Radial's look Mean which is a huge plus and besides them looking Badass from what I hear they function great for what they are. Those are going to be my next Tire purchase for my 87' :icon_thumby:
