timing pointer confusion

Look at the casting numbers on the balancer. A pre 70 casting will use the driver's side pointer, a 1970-up will use a passenger side pointer. You can also tell by the relationship of the timing marks to the keyway. Looking at it from the front, the pre 70 balancer's marks will at the 10 o'clock position with the keyway at 12 o'clock. A 70-up will be at 2 o'clock.
