TIL: Today I Learned...

Oh, they basically do that, but they computer image your natural knee and make one to match, then with the computer assist they take as little out as possible and slide the new one in, stick you up and you do some therapy and they send you walking to the car. Boom, done, one day.
If that's the case, they should have done that computer imaging part years ago when my knees were good. Of course, that means the images would have been saved on a stack of 5.25" floppy discs that were stored under a refrigerator magnet and no longer have good data. But imaging after damage doesn't sound wise. Give me the full titanium, hydraulic assist bionic man treatment.

Can't make good chicken salad from chicken poop.

The imaging is of the soft basically hollow section of the bone at the joint ends that they hollow out so they don't have to gouge out any structure I imagine, I took a class on bioengineering but since I graduated in '05 anything they were talking about is completely out of date, back then replacement joints were 15-20 year expectancy which is greatly surpassed that now...

They do want you active but not too active, some movement in the area promotes healing but too much goes backward, but of course not all immune systems react the same so everyone has a different experience...

Kinda like at work how we punch new keys off the vin and then dub copies off of the new cut.

Fun fact: Chickens eat their own poop. :icon_thumby:

Probably not intentional but I can't say as I have ever seen one spit it out.

My right knee has been giving me issues for awhile, would want to give out on me at work and Ive been having a burning pain too. Cant bend it full either. Even when laying down it bothers me. Im not sure if its arthritis or what. I already have shoulder issues and if I sit on my tailgate during my lunch my right ankle doesnt want to support weight. I probably need to seriously get medical help. Hate that though, 3 months ago I went to urgent care over a cough that wouldn’t go away and we both couldn’t sleep because of it. Their x-ray was down so they referred me to the e.r. That was 4 hours and the billing just showed up, $800-something. Insurance only covered about 120 of it. The knee doesn’t seem to be fixing itself though. Its only got worse.

2 of my dogs eat their own on purpose. Its disgusting.

I watched my old fat beagle one time turn his head back and watch himself shit, then eagerly spin right around and eat it like it was a steak.

My basset mix prefers his aged a bit.

Think mom said the new knee replacements are supposed to be good for 35 years now. Slightly less bending than original, but she says it’s a massive improvement over the old partial. Took her a few months to get back to normal, but now she’s doing everything. Had a problem with being allergic to the dissolving stitches though

Ahh yes, the good old 5.25” floppy disks… somewhere I have a pick of a 3.5” system restore floppy stuck to a fridge with a magnet, I’ll have to see if I can find it

mine left Edison New Jersey at 6am today, straight shot across the turnpike, the race is on!

at least I got a dog in this fight...

Mine are out for delivery... they just better have the cooling fins.

No pics yet, power is still out from yesterdays storm.
Maybe today’s storm will restore your power

You win...

The poor sport in me says you deserved this power outage.

The real me wonders how in the world did you survive the heat last night with no power...
