I think im gonna get a thrush because its gotta a good sound and good price to go with it. but i was wonderin how much pipe to get if i ran it from the catalytic converter?

It depends. Several questions need to be answered.

What Thrush muffler?

How long is the Thrush muffler?

Are you just putting it into the stock exhaust system or are you doing a custom cat-back exhaust?

If it's the later, where are you planning on running:
True dual?
Out the side before the rear tire?
Through the bed for a stack?
Into the passenger compartment to asphyxiate yourself? :D

haha very funny. lol
i think im gonna do a cat back and im gonna get the trush welded.
im not sure if i want duals, would it sound better?

a single 2.5 inch pipe from the cat back with a thrush muffler. exiting behind the rear tire will sound the best. next best is stock piping with just the muffler welded on and the resonator removed if you have one.

duals on these trucks dont sound good IMO.

True duals don't really sound good from the 4.0's I've heard... but I'm sure stock back to a single muffler with dual tailpipes would still sound good. But the single would be a lot easier (and cheaper) to manage.

If i were in your situation, I would replace the stock muffler with the thrush and then do a little custom work on the tailpipe. Maybe a nice 2.5-3" tip come out at a 45 degree angle. Then you got the nice sounds and some good looks.

yeah. you won't have any regrets with the thrush welded either. nice low throaty rumble. me and my brother do the turbo and it sounds so nice and its cheaper. but the welded will last longer
