Thrush Exhaust

I run a Flowmaster 50 series but I also have a V8 w/ true dual exhaust. I had a 40 series when the 3.0 was still under the hood and loved the sound. Just do not be an ass hat about it like adsm08 said.

I used a 2" glasspack that is 31" long on my 2.9L and it sounds decent. It is not "loud" or annoying. I can hear it and it has a deeper sound,it sure don't sound V-8 deep though cause of course it's not a V-8. Now the 88 Chevy I had with a 350,headers and a 3" glasspack.....it did sound wicked but was too loud and got to annoying on the highway.

i wish there was something to put on the 2.9's that sounded good... :(

I had a Flowmaster Hushpower on my 89 BII with the 2.9. It sounded really great. Just the right amount of grunt to it. You will like the sound of it, Bro. Look into the price at your local muffler shop.

Gravity takes it's effect in a rather short distance with low velocity items. Unless you are Ron Jeremy type hung, you are gonna splash yourself.

Think about it. If you're upside down and you point straight out(horizontally), the stream will not hit you.

I am running the thrush welded.. Which is built on the design of (correct me if im wrong) the Flow 40 series.. Either way I ****ing love the sound of mine it is just enough loud without being obnoxious!

i'm also running the thrush welded. big fan of it. i have side by side compared rangers with the welded vs. flow's and i would take the welded every time. its a little quieter than a flow, but it sounds a lot less ricey

No, you may not. Your mother said she's biased against Thrush mufflers. I would know. :icon_twisted:

Also the Thrush Welded is basically the same price as the glass pack.. Like 26 bucks at advance.

If your hanging upside down naked and you're not erect you are gonna get splashed!!! lol

after all this argument about whether you're gonna splash yourself or not, why doesn't someone just go try it and give us the final word haha

Alright so I just got back from the local playgrounds jungle gym.. You will in fact splash yourself! Also im not allowed back at that park..

I have a Stainless Steel welded Magnaflow universal muffler on mine.

Here is my muffler:

Looks a lot like a glass pack but a lot thicker insulation and more cylindrical. It was about 60 bucks and I welded it right in place of the old stocker, reusing the old piping.
My inlet and outlet I.D of my muffler is the O.D of the stock pipe. I just slid it on and welded it up. You could just use clamps if you wanted.

It sounds great. Nice low rumble, not raspy, definitely loud but not "look at me" loud. Frankly, I think louder is never always better. Sometimes you just look obnoxious. Apparently, if you're already being a prick, it could also get you shot. That's crazy.....

YES. Tru stories coming up: This summer at a mudfest near us, a guy got pissed at another guy in the pits who was revving his engine for over 20 minuets and a family that was also next to the noisy revving idiot kept asking him to stop and the guy just kept revving the motor, threw a beer can at a 3 year old kid and soon...the fight began...and the guy with the pos noisy truck was dead at impact. The guy who killed the other guy was arrested of course but the charges were later dropped.....'Stand Your Ground Law' works for some.
And... this as well. We were at a street rod show up at Orlando this spring and this one guy in a Tuner car kept driving in and out of the blocked off street areas revving his very, very, really, noisy exhaust and this got a lot of people pissed. Remember, I said really noisy exhaust!!!! It realy hurt my ears when he revved that motor!!!! He stopped by a group of people who were admiring all the vintage hot rods and bikes. He backed up to about 7-8 people and revved up his motor and this pissed a bunch of people off. Three guys and a girl in a lifted Dodge Ram blocked the guy from leaving and bashed the Tuner car a few times with ball bats and a crowbar and then bitch slapped the punk driver a few times. Of course when the cops showed up...nobody saw anything...of course. Nobody got arrested. Tuner boy had to get a wrecker pick him up. Somehow after the cops left the Tuner boy's tires were all slashed. Some people can only take so much before crap happens. Some things that are true in life:
You don't spit into the wind, never take a pee hanging upside down naked, and you don't ever rev that noisy exhaust around the wrong people....geeesh!!!!

So it's safe to say these two didn't get shot for JUST swapping out their muffler?

A guy I work with had a Honda. Either him or one of his Honda friends got pulled over for having a fart pipe. They said to the cop "Mustang's are loud, why don't you give them tickets?". And the cop told him "Mustang's are supposed to be loud". I seriously think most non-V8 cars sound like complete garbage with loud exhaust, but Ford's little 4.0 doesn't sound too bad. Chevy's 4.3 is another that sounds pretty decent with and exhaust system.
