ive got a 98 3.0 ranger. its a standard and its my first actual truck other than my f150 rigs i got. but i noticed ever once in a while when i push my clutch in it seems like the throttle sticks and i dont even have my foot on the gas any ideas on what would do this or is it nothing to be worried about??

Oh I think you meant to say 2010 Tacoma. No just kidding, Seems like something wd40 may fix

+1 if not the cable sounds like its binding. try the wd40 1st

yeah, my b2 does it too, it's just old and prob needs some wd40, but i got lots of other stuff i'd rather fix

uh yea guys lets look a bit farther with this try checking your Tb for carbon build up instead of spraying sum WD40 on something that MAY not be the problem

well i know its not the throttle cable. i can jump on it as much as i want and it dont stick its only when i push the clutch in it jumps the rpms up. my 1990 f150 does the same exact thing

i think its normal, as long as it comes back down. you could spray some carb cleaner in the TB and in the IAC hole to clean any carbon out of it. but i know my old ford did the same thing.

When you've got the clutch in and it's idling high, stick your foot under the gas pedal and pull it up - if the idle instantly goes down, it's got to be something hooked up to the throttle cable.

Mine does it too, but I think its the weather more than anything. I think my IAC is getting frozen condensation making things bind because some days it dies or lopes at idle, some days it runs high, and once its warm the problems just go away.

adsm sounds like what mine does. cause i know the throttles not stickin cause i just bought the truck and its mint. you could eat off the motor thats how clean it is. but thanks guys for the info.
