I just did mine about 5 minutes ago. Love it!!!! Easiest, cheapest, mod I have done yet. Haha. Thanks for the tip!

pull your gas pedal up and put some zip strips on the extra cable. So fast, So cheap, So easy, SO ME!!!!!!!!!:headbang:

Yeah I did that about 3 months ago and I was amazed. It was the best 10 cents I ever spent!

Oh I'm gonna have to do this, my truck is a turd at both realizing that I'm giving it gas and shifting.

I've always used STP Throttle Cable Conditioner. I rub it on religiously, to prevent this very problem. :icon_twisted: :D

Seriously, I'm going to "get down" and check this out. Might have to use wimpy white cable ties if I can't find my black ones.

In the meantime, the rubber travel-stop on the back of my clutch pedal came unglued, and now I'm clacking on the metal floorboard with each well-executed gear shift.

What's the quick fix here? Electrical tape and 4 layers of old inner tube? I don't need nearly all that clutch pedal travel... yet. :icon_confused:

I just joined the club too. At first hearing this mod I couldn't visualize it but once you are on your back looking up at the pedal you can see it clear. I about 1/4 inch slack in mine. I used an eye electric connector where it crimps down. Cut the eye part off and the plastic crap and opened it up around the cable and clamped it down. maybe have 1/16 inch slack now glad someone woke the thought back up in my head. I didn't drive it as I was already parked but I started it up and tell big time :headbang:

This is what I used.. picture is from another site..

Someone had mentioned on another forum not to take up all the slack where the cable is tight because supposedly if you smash on the pedal you can snap the cable ?? Makes since anyhow.. Just a thought.

I would think taking out ALL the slack, when it's like 85degF in your cab, could be a prob when the temp drops to -10F... :shok:

Not when you're a spoiled bitch like me living in So Cali where it hardly ever drops below 40. Although I've noticed during cold weather things tend to shrink.. lol.. I'm just saying.... :icon_thumby:

One of the easiest mod's I've done yet, so much more response! Also, tiny bit of slack, no need in breaking the throttle cable!

If you're doing this, or looking into it, I highly recommend this modification!

Also, if you're like me, you find that the Kick down cable wasn't even seated!

Amazing find, will do this to pretty much any vehicle I own with wire throttle.
Thanks for supplying the details needed, and the how to.
Awesome!

hey guys just got my 3.slow i'm gonna try this when i get home in a few minutes my truck is ball-less now my 2.8 will smoke it lol:icon_confused:
