The only thing you change is where the pedal is located reletive to where you are used to it being. When you push the pedal down so far, it opens up the throttle just as far as it always did... but since the pedel is now higher you push it to the same spot you always did and all of the sudden it feels like it has more power.

Not true. My cable was so stretched out it took 4 zipties to make it nice again. Even with the pedal on the floor, I was only getting about 2/3 of the throttle body open. With the ties in place, I get the full 100% open throttle.
