limited slip is the way to go when you arent offroading lockers are a waste of money if your pavement pounding and they eat tires for days if you dont stay out of that throttle
You will never lock the front in when driving on dry pavement. A locker up front will provide much better traction when needed than a limited slip.

I welded the spiders in my old 8.8. This eliminates the weak link of that axle - the carrier. I had a Lock-Right in the front D35.

My 14ff is also welded with the "orb" style, however I left the front 60 open for now.

Once you've driven/wheeled a locked rig, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. That said, if it's primarily driven on the road, I would probably opt more for a limited slip differential.

well then if its not going to be locked on pavement then its basically a lmtd slip right? and why would you waste money on it when its not going to be in use, if your driving on mostly streets and freeways and not on trails then i would think a limited slip would be the better and more practical way to go and a good limited slip will provide more than enough traction for the occasional trail

You have it all wrong if you think a locker is a limited slip if it isn't locked on pavement:icon_rofl:.

You need to experience wheeling with a limited slip and them with a locker; there is no comparison.

if it primarily sees pavement then why bother locking it. unless your racing it or something

Your missing my point, if your truck sees primarily pavement you would be wasting money on a locker

You would also be wasting your money on a limited slip.

idiot, these d35 front axles are exactly the same as a 2wd when the hubs unlocked. locking the front axle ONLY hurts when you are using 4wd, this isent a jeep or a new ranger with a live front axle. the FACT you can run the d35 and unlock the hubs to completely disengage the front axle is a huge advantage of the axle. one of the bigger reasons is it is possible to obtain 2wd low range to move trailers or steep hills. become more familiar with something before you vomit out nonsense like this again.

No I am not missing your missing point. You obviously do not realize that you can get a locker for as much if not cheaper than a limited slip unit.

lol....

Ooh I'm loving the hostility lmao but even with the rude comments I still don't see why you would install a locker in a vehicle that doenst see trail time that often regardless of being able lock and unlock hubs the locker itself is a waste of money

I liked the road manners of locked front L/S rear... however when the clutches wore out in the rear it was fucking usless on the trail. Lock them both or don't bother.

L/S in front (rare) or a locker are a waste on a street rig, locked up front I would be young jedi when I re-gear.. to much work otherwise. Rear would be real nice, no point in doing that till re gear time too though (god, gonna be expensive)

my pile of parts b2 spends 90% of its time looking at the inside walls of my garage and not on the trails. if you are going to break into tears over a scratch on the trail, dont get a locker because it would be a waste of money.
