I have a 2000 Ranger , i currently run a set of 31's , i want to keep them but make my truck stand a little higher and be able to clear my exhaust , what i was thinking of doing was the following

1. Replace the rear factory blocks with a set of 3 inch blocks from autozone

2. Crank the torsion bars to lift the front to match the rear

IIRC , arent the factory blocks 2.5" , so that would give me a half inch of lift in the back , and would i need to buy ne torsion bar keys to crank the front up ?

any input is greatly appreciated

Use extended shackles, not blocks (good for 1.5-2").

You shouldn't need keys for the front either, there is usually enough threads on the adjuster bolts to lift the front a safe maximum of 2".

ok , where do i get extended shackles , and what would the brand/part number be for the ones i want to lift my truck as stated , and on a side note , does anyone make replacement bushings fo the leaf spring eyes , i have new springs i have to put in one side , but when my buddy removed them from his parts truck he burnt the bushings

i looked into belltech , and all i came up with is this

http://store.summitracing.com/partd...300253+4294908331+4294907827+115&autoview=sku

i do not have that kind of money and that says it is a 4 inch drop , is there any other form of drp for the rear , i am kind of short on funding and am lookin for a cheap albeit temporary way to lift it , that is why i looked at the blocks , it will prolly be only a month or two until i can afford something better than a block kit

The part number you are looking for is Belltech #6400....the leaf spring bushings and shackle both can be found on summit racing.

ok , i looked on summit at the 6400 and it said it was for an f-150 , but it will fit the ranger ?

and i will have to find the bushings on there

The shackles will fit the Ranger, I put them on my truck and they work great. Get bushings from Energy Suspension, you can find them on Summits' website. They go in easy and work great.

now , forgive me for sounding dumb , but are the bushings a two or one piece design , and do the shackles come in a pair

okay , i just ordered the shackles , but i could not fine the bushings , do you have a part number to find them by

ok , one quick question , if i crank the torsion bars will i need an alignment ?

Yeah, you'll need an alignment after cranking the t-bars. It's a good idea to get one after you modify the suspension in any way.

ok , do you think it will hurt it to drive around for a little while with no alignment , the shop i am doing this at does not have an alignment , so it may be a week or so until i can get it aligned

well , the shackles came in today , i ordered them yesterday , here they are

i am heading to west virginia tommorow , wont be back till saturday , and by then i will have them installed

Yeah i just did exactly what you're trying to do. the Belltech 6400s in the back and torsion crank in the front. You can get away with out the allignment for a short pd of time. I actually cranked my front end up almost 2 inches and took it to get alligned and they said there was nothing really out of allignment at all. So it may be case by case.
