Things you know need to be fixed

Shift motor died on the transfer case. Im going to replace with a Shiftster. Need to replace power steering pump. It's noisy as hell. Need front shocks. Need rear tires.
Valve covers are seeping.
Please post follow up on the Shiftster. The Rat came with no shift motor. I high lighted the modes in white paint and clamped a pair of needle nose vise grips to the triangular shift rod. I tethered them with some mechanic's wire, but they are still in place. It takes a bit of fiddling to get it into 4 high . Once it locks in it is fine. I have no faith in the push button shift system anyway. The vise grips aren't very elegant ,but they are positive.

Let's see:

'86 ranger 2.3l, head gasket. Also a/c belt and charge check. Under hood wiring, darned fusible links.

'94 Geo Metro, finish head gasket replacement, give car a bath, and repair hole in radiator.

'84 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, finish installing water pump, replace the power window track on the drivers side front, lube the power locks and window tracks, repair power window in tailgate, vacuum lines for transfer case and front axle, recharge a/c.

'75 Mazda B1600, replace head gasket, main and rod bearings, replace cam bearings, and replace timing chain.

'90 VW Vanagon, wiring, wiring, and even more wiring, shifter, brakes, rear wheel bearings, and some body work.

Think that's enough? I can go into the repairs to the house if you like.

I will post up after the install

Just finally changed my water pump in the b2. The 2.8 water pump isn't too difficult to change, but it certainly isn't the greatest design. Lucky for me the previous owner swapped the thermostat into the upper hose so I don't have to.

But,are holding off on them because they may turn out to be a nightmare?

I'll start:

I need to change some bulbs in my instrument cluster in the 1994 Ranger.
Just have the godaweful feeling that this would turn into a can of worms for me.:icon_confused:

Man that's a one hour job at worst. Don't worry I've gotten so good at it I can take out apart in a parking lot at school lol. I changed all mine out to leds so I'll probably never have to dive back in there.

Do they make drop in LED replacement lamps? I was thinking of replacing all of my lights back there if I get around to replacing the oil pressure sender with an analogue unit to make the gauge more than a dummy.
