However you mount hte spare, if you make a horizontal hinge on one side or maybe some kind of two piece hinge so your tire can sit how you want, but still 'unfold' sort of over the side of the truck and down to a manageable level, that would be awesome. I dont kow if I explained it in an understandable manner. But maybe some of the military guys can explain the spare tire setup on the LMTV better than I can.

the rear crossmember fits perfect almost...its just over 4 inches inside to inside...about 32-24 inches wide but dont quote me

there isnt any 2x2 on the frame itself up front

From the pictures I have seen I think there is a like a tension reel/spring assist on the outrigger that assists in the raising/lowering of the tire. Kind of like aircraft doors (if you have ever messed with one of those...)

exactly...i had to drive to evensville sunday to meet up with greg with 6 jackstands clanking around the whole trip in the passenger seat with my cooler in there lol

withe the 3x3 covered in mesh i can carry whatever i want and strap it anywhere...which is why when i do the real floor i believe im gunna do the mesh, its light pretty tuff and i can keep an eye on the undercarraige

whenever i get some tubeing and some time.....neither are easy to come by
 
did some work on the bed and added a big tool box...its starting to look good!

soon aint good enough, and btw you got any leveling coils, or spacers kickin around? i need a set
