The skinny on Police Interceptors?

Almost forgot, he recently bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 that wouldn't start. The owner thought it had a bad fuel system/engine so he got it cheap. Turns out the fuel guage was bad and the tank was empty even though it was at 3/4. Some people are just idiots. He's planning on re-selling it or keeping it for his tow rig if he doesn't get the 350 fixed.

Ive always wanted a P71 just havent really needed a 4 door car yet no kids and what not. There a cool looking car stripped down no frills exterior no chrome or bs but a spotlight on some which could be handy. I think if I ever settle down and get a good old lady I might get one for a grocery getter.

Had a Sheriff here in the 70's that had an old fury 3 with a 426 Hemi in it.He had it built and paid for it out of his pocket.
He was big Buddy's with Buford Pusser,(the guy that the original Walking Tall movie was made about).He could clear out a road house with a 5 cell flashlight...........never pull his gun.
When I was 16 I hung out at a garage ran by a fellow and his 2 sons,he helped me rebuild a VW engine for BAJA I was building.I hung on every word of every story he told about that Fury and the Hemi........lol.That was 29 years ago.

My step-dad bought an old PI CV to use as his taxi car a number of years ago, was a pretty sweet car. Pretty reliable from what I could tell, had 240k or so on it and still ran extremely well, started up every day, ran all day, and kept going. Seems a good choice imo.

PI vic's are not anywhere near fast...driven them, driven in them-outran them

my father has worked on the cruisers at the local PD for 20 years now- has seen all from the dodge diplomats(sais they are the best) to the vic's to the new chargers, said the chargers are faster but can't take the punishment, the PD's are getting away from the vic's because they are going front wheel drive...the vic's are built tough as nails, just as they get some miles on them they are like any other vehicle get tired, especially after continuous abuse...they don't have much top end, 129 mph gov, but they get there in a hurry...and only come with between 190hp-225hp depending on year, and as stated before only difference is dual exhaust, better cooling, and different tune for the ecu...chargers are hella fast, exceed the 129 mph gov...he took one for a ride with the LT and the guy got scared, let off as they aproached 135-i outran a vic with my litte 4wacker turbo nissan many a time-im waiting to get it back together to see if i can get away from a charger...lol will sure suck if i can't

ohh yeah a charger kept stride with a buddy of mine gsxr 750 until they hit the twisties and surface streets-could not compare the acceleration of the 2

I hAD a 97 gt (worthless without PI heads) automatic, and my brother had a 92 interceptor that he bought with over 200k miles, he almost beat me off the line. I just happen to understand powerbraking and shift points. My driving isthe only reason I beat the vic.

In fort madison there used to be a P71 '95 cutlass ceria that was used for public disturbances and whatnot I wonder what happened to that thing of course this was back in '99 maybe '00
