As some of you know, I have a ranger that has been an on again off again project. I plan to "finish" it this summer.

Here's the link to the old thread, so you can see the changes and progress from when I was 16 and first bought the truck. The old thread is Project Life Support, as some of you may remember.

Right now it is on it's way to my new place. Where I will finally have the space and time to do the work it needs. Also, with my new job I've been picking up the skills needed (and funds) to do the work on my truck. Although funding is going to be slightly divided between fixing up my Ranger, Cherokee, and house.

The plans are to have it sitting on 6" of lift, with a 4x4 swap, 302, and 35" tires. I'm also in the process of converting my 1993 front end to a 2001+ front end. All I need to finish that is a grill, bumper, and fenders. I plan to use some fiberglass flared fenders to assist with fitting the 35's.

Any tips are greatly appreciated. And I don't mind criticism.

Photos to come.

Sounds like a good built you got planned.
I was wondering what happened to you and your truck

Man 8.8's are heavy. Just dragged my 31 spline out of storage. Going to start cleaning it up a bit and get it ready to weld some shock tabs and spring pads on. I'm also going to do a little brake work to it, upgrade a few things.

Good luck man! Looks like you have a plan

Got a package in the mail today. Very fast service and shipping from Ruffstuff Specialties. Thanks Dan!

These are VERY well built. I see no flaws in them, and they're thick and heavy duty looking. I'm definitely pleased with the product and will have no problem ordering from his company again.

Picked up an 02 honeycomb grill the other day at the local JY for $20. Goal is to have the axle under the truck and the front clip (minus fenders) on by the time winter hits me hard. I think I might make it!

I still need to fab up a pair of extended mounts for the frame to put the 01+ core support in place of my 93 one. I'll do that at work, since they have a better welder than I do.

Absolutely. She's going to be regeared to 4.56, at least I think that's what I bought.. the box is around the house somewhere.

Cut the old core support mounts off the frame and ground them down flush this morning. I also managed to get the core support set in the inner fenders, had to slightly modify them to accept it. The OE 1993 core support bolted along the bottom edge of the inner fender, however the new core support extends much further. I removed a little bit too much steel when I started cutting, but it was all cancerous and had to go anyway. It's in there, but I'm going to wait until I have the fenders and accessories (header panel, lights, grill) mounted up before I tack it in. I want everything to line up the first time.

Should be picking up the temporary fenders tomorrow.

Please post lots of pictures of your front clip change. I'm doing the same thing within a couple months.

Picked up the fenders today, didn't have time before it got dark to put them on. There was some beer and grilled chicken that required my immediate attention when I got home.

Please post lots of pictures of your front clip change. I'm doing the same thing within a couple months.

I'll put up some pictures once I finish getting everything mounted.
