Speaking of swaps, I can imagine these becoming donors for EV conversions.

Less than 20k for a basic EV drivetrain package. People spend that much or more piecing together conversions from various companies and trying to make everything work together. With this you get a complete package, everything works together, and unlike a Tesla, it doesn't have a lot of extras packaged into it that you have to work around.

I like the fact that it's a stripped down model. I like the idea of solid color panels with no paint to worry about. That might work out as a plus for us rust belt people.

Beyond that, I'm neutral on them. An EV is not a desirable thing for me but that doesn't mean is wouldn't be a good fit for someone else.

I really like the concept of this. I wish more automakers would make simpler vehicles that focused on transportation and hauling and that didn't come with thousands of dollars of crap you don't want and won't use.

Personally I couldn't agree more. The Slate may or may not be right for me, but I like the idea of a low cost reliable work truck/courier.

I'd be fine with that. It's mean I could get a nearly new body with no frills for next to nothing. Imagine the possibilities. Wonder what'd be the easiest thing to swap into it?
