the Lawn Mower thread.

I have no idea. I haven't even turned on my electric fence this year. My uncle's garden is 200 yards through the woods and the deer have regular dance parties in his garden just to stomp his plants down.

Even in my urban garden the critters just tear it up. I have to fence my raised beds or the rabbits and geese eat everything.

Benjamin builds the Marauder and Prowler silenced air rifles in 22 cal. Marauder is semi auto, Prowler is single shot

Can say from, er, um, a friend's experience that your neighbors cannot hear a Prowler go off if fired from back inside a bedroom window. Silencer on them is incredibly effective when killing off ****ing bunnies that crawl under your electric fence to eat your beans. They're so quiet, you can shoot a double with ease. Or so my friend tells me.

If I was more rural... I wouldn't hesitate to make supper with a few garden eating critters. It would be hard to get away with that stuff here.

I wife wants a puppy for mothers day... I think that will eliminate most of the critter problems.

For my lawn mower fun...

Crankshaft pulley broke on the pig last fall. No longer available, nobody has one, nobody has a clue why I am looking for the pulley for a 1996 Murray... so dad and I rebuilt it.

It runs well with the drive belt on and doesn't shake itself to pieces, going to go for broke and put the deck on it tomorrow and see how that goes...

Found this rusty Troybilt mower in the bush when I moved into my new house. Emptied the water out of the gas tank, hot the engine running, and cleaned up the mower deck.

I used some panels from an old refrigerator that is also sitting in the yard to patch the rust holes. Welding them on was an adventure because I have the shittiest welder known to man, and I was trying to weld rusty sheet metal.

I like your brand name.

The wife ran into a tree with my '90's Craftsman garden tractor yesterday, taco'd the tie rod, got that fixed and noticed the toe was way off so the spindle bent back too... didn't fix that, yet, just fixed the toe problem :). While I was in there I noticed the front wheel was crooked on the spindle, turns out it hasn't had an outer bushing for a LONG time, long enough to taper the hole so the wheel is shot. To get it going for now or forever I used some I think 3/4" PVC cut to hammer in length and it tightened it right up, greased it up and good to go, a 20' stick of bushing is like $3 so I'll probably just keep doing that...

Normally I cut my grass on Saturdays but today, May 9, it is snowing. I am philosophically opposed to cutting grass when it's snowing. Just flurries, but still.... Today the Pittsburgh area set a record low temperature for this date at 28*.

Yep, snowed here too. Was going to work on something outside but gave that plan a quick veto. I’m working on paperwork instead

Thus why it was changed to climate change instead of global warming or global cooling. Now, they can't be wrong regardless of what the climate does.

no snow here but was very cold. mowed yard then put 3-point kit and alternator on the allis, top link is too long by 4” going to either have to make one or buy a shorter one. used a chain to move it with, had to add weights to be able to steer.
