Bummer! Funny that chick at about 7:30 dont even know how to drive it, first she hits the wipers then pops the hood right before she hits the gas lol.

I think I just cryed a little, allso any one see the first gen in the back ground SEXY!

It was a sad day and the end of an era but there are people like ourselves that will keep the Ranger name alive.

odd that its a supercab, considering it was slated for deliverly to orkin pest control, i think every fleet vehicle ive ever seen in the ranger chassis has been a reg cab. some long bed, most shortbed, but all were reg cabs. i think if i were to drive it out the door id have done a burnout doing so!

heres a photoshopped pic of a funeral for the ranger:

all in all i think it was a marketing decision to pull the plug. the ranger hadnt had much of a advertising push in years, ford was too concerned about the F150 keeping its title of "best selling truck...yada, yada yada..." so by not pushing the ranger then giving it the axe, its hoping those that would have bought a ranger would go to a F150 instead. i'll just keep rebuilding mine, have no desire for a ford product past the '96 model year, dad's '05 superduty looks good on paper, but theres so many potential problems down the road, (cam phasers, throttle by wire, ect) sure mine's old-school, but i actually prefer the ttb front end and wouldnt want the power rack & pinion the '98 & up have went to. the new global ranger everyone but us is getting doesnt appeal to me either, big cab, not much box, sure they have a diesel, but it almost looks like a car with a 5' box on the back. and 6 lug hubs?!, thats silly, bad enough the F150 went to 6 lug hubs. if the ranger could have stayed a basic truck like when it first came out, maybe there would be more of a market, its just gotten too big & expensive. a new one like mine is about 26,000. mine would have been 14,500 which is bad enough. at least the used market will have plenty of rangers for quite awhile.

I don't see the 1st gen either...Are you seeing the ghosts of Rangers pasts is that video?:shok:

It's definitely sad. The ending with everyone leaving was definitely sad but I think a lot of them have other jobs lined up at other Ford plants right?

Hopefully we'll see another small Ford truck again stateside.......

We can only hope and wait. Possibly someday FORD will realize how stupid they are with this decision.

If only they would copy and produce the overseas quad cabs here. I know FORD thought the explorer sport could fill that gap, but it was an experiment in "futility" trucks.

Too bad. We all knew about it for a couple of years. BUT......there will always be Rangers around for sale and hitting the trails and highways!!!!! We will see Ranger everywhere we go!!!!!

I think it's actually a Gen 2, but I may be wrong. It's a cool little rig though.
