seems they made quite a few forest trucks and municipal rigs initially.





imo, i am pretty confidant when f150 sales can be whooped by gm or whomever...they will diversify the product line again.

...and i actually hope somebody like jeep comes up with a decent price truck with 30 plus mpg diesel or whatever powertrain....as i really think this will destroy the 150 sales just enough allowing gm a shot at the top....as i seriously would be prompted to go into debt for such a product. just to help cause it....to neglect the need to reduce operating costs for most americans the last 10-15 years to keep those fat pig f trucks on top is shameful in my view...


when some key people retired that would never allow a v8 ranger...i actually had hope. yeah a hot gas pig hotrod would have been cool..but a diesel even better.

the replacement people ended that hope when they scrapped all the diesel shit and the bronco plans...


if a ranger type(as in general quality/size) product running 35 mpg or better gets brought to market by somebody recognizing the opportunity this is making available....i really see the f series sales record finally being brought down. gm has nearly beat it a few times....so close.



then ford can bring the technology expertise they have developed and is found in the rest of the world home where its belonged since the beginning.

Going along with what you are saying Bobby, I've read that Ford has contemplated resurrecting the F-100 as a smaller truck line. I've wondered if they would do this just so it is an F-Series branded truck, and ultimately adding to the "F-Series Sales". As you said, GM has come close to knocking Ford off it's hill a couple times.

My buddy has an 89 with them mirrors, and it's also red. I thought it looked an awful lot like his truck, so that's what swayed my thought process.

Yeah when i looked i found a couple ofsecond gens but all the ones around here have the blcok flag syle mirrors, and my 88 had mirrors like that. But i still think the front edge of the hood looks more 1st gen.

That red 1st generation has markings on the door, a red roof light, and drivers side spotlight. Appears to be a fire vehicle. Maybe it's for their own in-house fire/safety/rescue dept or something.
