hello all i was on my way to work the other day when my heater and blower fan
just stopped working.
and just to answer you all yes i have check all the fuses and they are all good.
what could cause this problem and how do i fix it fast for winter is not over yet and it gets mighty cold in my truck after awhile.

wheres the blower resistor located for 1990? (i dont have my manual on me)

Check the blower resistor

there is a chance it is the resistor, however when the resister goes it usually defaults to high. my guess is that it is the relay or the blower itself. you can hook the blower directly to the battery if it does not work the blower is bad.

Exactly what kind of truck are we talking about?

I don't know much about Dakota's but I imagine there are some differences between them and a Ranger.

If it is a Ranger a 2011 is different than a 1983, it would be nice to know what year we are talking about.

It really is a bad relais above his left foot, I took a test light over yesterday and checked it out.

thanks to all for the help it was the relay and i have fixed it and have gotten back heat and blower back in working order. sorry for late reply have been busy with a bathroom reno from hell.

Where exactly is the relay for my 1994 (manufactured Nov 93) Ranger? Is it in the fuse panel above the driver's foot or somewhere else?

There is a power distribution box in the engine compartment.the relay might be in there..........

thanks for the fast reply. The relays in the power distribution box are labeled OPEN, FOG LAMPS, OPEN, AC W O T, FUEL PUMP and EEC POWER

Help

What is the actual problem you are having. I guess you don't have an owners manual

Koeo test for power at the blower motor. If you back probe the connector and change the speeds on the switch the voltage shold change. You cold just disconnevt the wires at the BM and check for power

The blower motor began to work intermittantly. Now almost never. Of course checked fuses, took out the motor checked operation, took out resistor checked for corrosion and for continuity. all good. at times, there is no power to the blower. When it works rarely, it works at different speeds.

hoping for the relay to be sticking but cannot find it on a 94 model
