So yesterday we had a new 5th wheel come in and I was talking to the driver about her truck and was just shocked by how many miles it has. She owns a 2014 ram dually with the cummins of course and has 680,000 miles. She said she drives about 3500-4000 miles a week. Since its only a few months into 2018 that's around 190-208,000 miles a year. She said only thing she really had to do was replace the cluster because on the new dodge's after you hit 1,000,000 kilometers it just stops racking up miles. I know the diesels run forever and now there's a little more proof. Just thought some of you might like that information and wonder if anyone else has stories about high mileage vehicles.

I have 978,147 on my cummins.

Granted, is a ISX 15 in a pete 386...but still.

We had an ISX 13 in a 07 pete 386 that went 1.8 million, and was still running strong when it was totalled, never been apart.

It's those keystone rings they use. And 15w40 oil.

I'd love to put a 4BT in the Ranger, but it's just so much work. The engine ain't cheap either.

Unlike most diesel pickups it is actually doing what it is meant to do all the time.

I had heard that the Cummins diesel engine was a good diesel engine and could go a million miles if not more as long good maintenance was performed on a regular basis.

Yeah those Cummins last forever with good maintenance. The lady was pissed that she couldn't get 1,000,000 miles on the odometer since the cluster resets after 1,000,000 kilometers instead of miles lol
