So, last night, after replacing all my signal lights on my ranger to make sure they work, i made a legal right on red while signaling, then the truck bucks from the bad gas still in the aft tank so i pull it over to get out of the stream of traffic.

instantly, a state trooper flies up my ass lights blazing and marches up to the window of my stalled truck.

"I pulled you over for not signaling for a right turn."

"..what?"

"License and insurance, now."

*hand over licence* "i don't have my car yet, i just got this truck two days ago and i don't have my new card yet, but i did transfer the policy from my other truck."

"okay." *walks off*

so then he comes back up, demands i get out of the car, and arrests me for not having insurance and driving on a suspended license, except i never missed paying a ticket, ever.

apparently they suspend your licence if you don't pay a special fee every year after getting a no insurance ticket, except they never told me, i never recieved a letter, and i was never informed when it was suspended.

and he refused to believe i had insurance, and he refused to let me call somebody who could verify it with my policy number.

so i go to jail, spend the next 12 hours being denied a phone call, and the only reason i am even out now is because i snuck my phone past the front door and fired a blind text to my mom saying "jail, help."

so, after posting bond, i just got my insurance card proving i was covered, and on monday i'm gonna march down to the courthouse and slam that bastard down on the counter.

put that in your pipe and smoke it buddy.

so, i watched the tow the grey turd away on a flatbed, but i managed to get it back this afternoon.

i came on base today and we have rent-a-cops at the front gates, now some of them are real nice, then you get those people. I hand him my id, now i work on the flightline and all my stuff looks like crap, well, the magnetic strip is starting to peel off, so he goes "Has anyone told you to get a new id" i'm like "naw it still works and you are the first". So he walks back to the SP car a couple cars back and talks to them. He comes back and is like, "if you come through the gate again we will have to call your First sargent"............it's saturday.......i'm not going to be confined to base cause i can't get a new id till monday. People need to get over themselves. Sorry for the thread jack just wanted to add my story, and sorry you had to spend time in jail bro

We had the same deal at Holloman. The DoD regulations for motorcycles states no mp3 players while riding, makes sense. I pull in behind a GSXR, he does a stoppie (up on the front tire), listening to his iPod and the guard does not say a damn thing to him. I pull up and they searched me and my F2. To make even worse, they called my COMMANDER and said I was not properly geared. List of what I had on: helmet, jacket, gloves, long pants, over the ankle foot protection plus a reflective ICON Milspec vest. I was wearing steel toed work boots and they called my COMMANDER. She lived on base so she came to gate with a copy of the regulations in hand. Went down the list of required items as listed above and looked at the officer and said (I shit you not)'Leave my airmen alone! Just because your to stupid to know the regulations does not mean you have to hold my airmen and call me on a SUNDAY.' Needless to say the next day, after I got in from PT, my shop chief asked me about my weekend. I said it was just another average weekend. Then she showed me the email from the commander. It was not nasty at all, just a give him the day off for being jacked with by SF email. I had mad respect for her after that.

a ticket cannot be notice of something if it is not written on the ticket.

i paid the ticket, end of story.

nowhere on the ticket did it say "oh, by the way, for the next three years you owe 250 dollars a year extra"

there was never ANY notice of ANY kind.

and yeah, if you're being penalized in some way, i'm pretty sure at some point somebody is required to let you know.

just sharing my own story but...

i fell asleep at the wheel of my old '97 back in december and ****ed the shit out of an F-150 when i railed into him at a stop light. i was kinda proud that i sat that much higher than him to completely miss his rear bumper

but anywho, i got the typical ticket of careless driving, $164 over here in pasco county. i opted for the driver's improvement four hour course to take the points off of my license. i took the course but was too busy/lazy to take the certificate out to the courthouse to take the points off and the county suspended my license for not turning the certificate in although i had already paid the ticket.

i had to pay $28 for a late certificate turn in and got my license reinstated.

you guys got nothing ......... I was raised by a single mother that also happened to be internal affairs for the Oregon State Police.......... she took early retirement when I was 13 because of some death threats.

I get in trow down fist fights with the local cops ........ I have had every one of my civil rights violated in this town because a fat POS had to come out and take a police report in a foot of snow 11 years ago. They follow me all over town waiting for me to drop the hammer......... You complain about 12 hours in the poke ........ I spent a 4 day holiday weekend in the poke because I could not find my registration..... btw ... the plates came back good because I had just renewed them.

Infact ......... I have met only 1 or 2 cops that I give a damn about .... and remember ...... 1 of those is my mom....... I am tired of nit picky asshole DOT cops. I am tired of small town bully type cops......... I am really burned out on crooked cops (got a few of those around here too)


out of respect for Jim Oaks I am going to refrain from saying that I hate all cops and just go with I hate most cops I have met and delt with.

The fact of the matter they know if your vehicle is registered even before they turn on the lights showing proof is just a way to generate revenue. Insurance is negotiable but they still charge a fee when you carry the proof to the station as far as the liscence I know for a fact if I forget my wallet I will get pulled over dont ask me how they know. I always dot the I`s and cross the T`s your chance of winning is next to nill and just pay the fines they got you by the balls and will twist if you let them.

Agreed. No cycle antics though. Thecops I've dealt with in NH and NY have been very pleasnt to deal with.

Here's my story:
When I bought my Ranger, it had a set of 30-day tags on it. The day I picked up my perminat tags was interesting.

I was pulling out of a local shopping plaza (around noon) when the cop wanted to talk to me. It turns out my new tags (obtained from my local town hall & installed about 8:30 that same morning) were showing up in the computer as "NOT VALID." Needless to say, Ms. Officer wanted to have a face-to-face chat.

When she expained to me what her reason was, I politly explained what the story was and produced the truck's bill of sale, old title, title transfer documents, new registration, recipt of payment from the town hall and my driver's license. She appologuzed for the confusion, wished me well, and sent me on my merry way.
